During foraging, they may collect pollen and nectar contaminated with pesticides, such as chlorantraniliprole, and transport them back to the hive. As a result, larvae are exposed to these residues, which can compromise their development and affect the formation of essential tissues, such as flight musculature. This study evaluated the effects of sublethal concentrations of chlorantraniliprole on larval development, morphometry, and flight muscle formation in Scaptotrigona postica bees. For this, larvae were exposed to five treatments: negative control (CN – food only); positive control (CP – dimethoate at 6.9 ng a.i./larva); solvent control (CA – acetone at 0.2%); chlorantraniliprole 1 (CL1 – 2.04 ng a.i./larva); and chlorantraniliprole 2 (CL2 – 0.204 ng a.i./larva). During development, key milestones were recorded: entry into the fifth instar (5°I), defecation (DF), pupae with different eye colors (PB – white; PR – pink; PM – brown; PP – black), and emergence (EM), in addition to daily monitoring of mortality. Mortality, pupation, and emergence rates were determined. Emerged bees were subjected to morphometric analyses of head width (MC) and intertegular distance (MI). Simultaneously, the flight muscles were dissected and histologically analyzed using Hematoxylin and Eosin (HE), Periodic Acid-Schiff (PAS), Methylene Blue (AM), Mallory’s Trichrome (MY), and Masson’s Trichrome (MN). Additionally, nuclear measurements of muscle cells were performed. Data normality was assessed, and ANOVA/Tukey or Kruskal-Wallis/Dunn tests were applied accordingly. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to construct the survival probability curve. Results indicated that only CP caused toxicity, presented by impacts in rates of larval mortality, pupation, and emergence, as well as in mortality during each developmental stage. Regarding developmental progression, only CL2 showed significant differences in mortality from DF to PB and from PR to PM. Although no lethal effects were observed within the same stage, mortality rate variation was noted during the 5°I period between CA and CL2. The Kaplan-Meier curve and Mantel-Cox Log-Rank test revealed a significant decrease in survival probability for larvae exposed to CL2. Morphometric analyses showed a significant increase in head width in CL1 and in intertegular distance in CL2. Histological analyses of the flight muscles revealed that both CL1 and CL2 presented focal points of tissue disorganization, presence of cytoplasmic vacuoles, and alterations in muscle fibers. Additionally, hemocytes were observed within the extracellular matrix and among muscle fibers. It is concluded that, although chlorantraniliprole did not induce larval mortality or inhibit pupation and emergence rates, it negatively influenced development and morphometric parameters. However, guaranteeing the right to transport is one of the ways to improve the quality of life of the local population. The aim of this study is to create a methodology for identifying the accessibility of a given municipality's neighbourhoods, via bus, to the high-capacity transport hub, using easily accessible tools and quantitative data. To do this, the IBGE census sectors are used as a reference via the Geographic Information System (GIS) to identify which neighbourhoods have the best transport indicators, such as the quality of the route between the home and the bus stop - known as the first mile - and the supply of each bus stop, consisting of a simpler quantitative way of obtaining results without the need for opinion polls. The TOD (Transit Oriented Development) principle and the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) methodology were used as aids. In this way, extensive qualitative surveys of users' opinions were not necessary, transforming this method into an economical, fast and effective way of measuring accessibility to public transport. A case study based on the proposed methodology was conducted in the city of Barueri-SP and the results proved useful in demonstrating the reality of accessibility in the municipality. Using an index with scores from 0 to 10, it was possible to see which sectors and neighbourhoods have the worst and best accessibility indices. Sectors close to main avenues scored well. ASD is characterized by difficulties in communication and social interaction, along with the presence of restricted and repetitive behaviors and interests. Several serious games have been developed to stimulate cognitive and social skills in people with ASD, many of which are therapeutically focused and applied in clinics. However, game design guidelines for this audience often do not consider inclusive approaches that promote collaborative learning experiences, including students with ASD. This study aims to develop a set of guidelines for designing collaborative educational games that include students with ASD. The research began with a systematic literature review to map the state of the art on the design of collaborative games specifically focused on or inclusive of people with ASD. Based on the literature review and results from Ziviani’s (2024) work on guidelines for the design of multiplayer collaborative educational games, an initial set of guidelines was developed and refined throughout the study. For the first refinements of these guidelines, a qualitative case study was conducted with a game originally designed to be collaborative, but without considering the inclusion of students with ASD. This game was applied in a municipal school with students from elementary school and high school, including students with ASD, evaluating aspects of collaboration and inclusion in the school context through direct observation, focus groups with students, and interviews with the special education expert who supervised the study. Based on the observations and suggestions collected, the first adaptation of the game was made, which was then applied in a second case study with the same students. In a focus group with special education experts, several points of uncertainty about the set of guidelines and the initial redesign of the game were discussed and refined. The study was then expanded to a third case study, in which the final version of the game, enhanced from the previous analyses, was applied to two new classes of students, including both students with and without ASD from the 6th grade of elementary school. The results demonstrated that it was possible to build a set of guidelines for designing collaborative educational games that include students with ASD. However, there are currently no highly spatialized characterization factors (CFs) available to Brazil. Then, this study aimed to calculate CFs for PM and precursor gas emissions (NH3, SOx, NOx, VOC) for Brazil. For this, the first step was a critical review of existing models, which showed that the models with global coverage and availability of CFs for Brazil, are the most appropriate: Van Zelm et al. (2016), Fantke et al. (2017, 2019), and Oberschelp et al. (2020). However, limitations have been observed. Then, CFs for PM2.5 and precursor gases were calculated per state, mesoregion and nationally, using death results calculated using the InMAP (Intervention model for air pollution) and national emission inventories. At the state level, the highest CFs were observed for SOx (ranging from 1.18×10⁻¹ to 4.09×10⁻⁴ deaths/ton), followed by PM2.5 (9.49×10⁻² to 2.09×10⁻⁴), NH3 (6.38×10⁻² to 1.41×10⁻⁴), NOx (1.35×10⁻² to 5.42×10⁻⁴), and VOCs (2.61×10⁻³ to 1.32×10⁻⁵). The highest CFs were observed in the Southeast region, particularly in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Finally, a sensitivity analysis verified the variation in results of an LCA case study concerning the choice of the characterization model, including the recommended models for Brazil and the CFs calculated in this research. The analysis used four milk production systems as a case study. Spearman’s correlation was calculated to verify the consistency of the milk systems’ ranking. Correlation analysis showed that regionalized CFs presented higher variation in the milk systems’ ranking. The CFs calculated by this research presents high correlation (> 0.9) with global CFs from other models. However, the CFs at state level resulted in low correlation (< 0.5) with all models, except with the state CFs from Oberschelp et al. (2020), the only model with CFs for Brazilian states, which presented correlation indicator equal to 0.9. The consistency between the CFs obtained in this study and those found in the literature reinforces the validity of the results and highlights the importance of using regionalized factors in LCA studies. The main limitations of the CFs are the effects equation based on data from the United States, incorporated into the global InMAP model, and the unavailability of these factors in LCA software. However, the results obtained contribute to advancing knowledge and refining the calculation of health impacts resulting from atmospheric pollutant emissions in Brazil. The analysis focuses on the differences between the novel and the series, particularly in terms of narrative, stylistic, and structural changes. Considering works and concepts from authors related to the referred field—among others, Walter Benjamin, André Bazin, and Irina Rajewsky—as premises and theoretical references, the analysis conducted in this dissertation aims to contribute to this debate, structured around an intermedia method. As a hypothesis, the research seeks to understand the adaptation, looking for common elements and the necessary narrative, visual, and structural differences that different media require. This research explores the connection between an Inventive Problem Solving Theory technique, Wikipedia and the controlled vocabulary Medical Subject Headings. Terms from the Inventive Problem Solving Theory effects database were mapped using the Entrez system, which was developed by the National Centere for Biotechnology Information, to retrieve terms from the Medical Subject Headings. For demonstration purpose, a search was conducted on PudMed for articles related to a specific term in order to carry out the case study. The similarity between the effects database and the controlled vocabulary was calculated using the Levenshtein, Jaro-Winkler and cosine metrics. In relation to these practices are UX Research activities, which focus on investigating and evaluating user experience. UX Research practices can be integrated into Long-Term UX to facilitate data collection and evaluation at different stages of product or service usage over time. However, there is a scarcity of solutions that enable the integration of UX Research practices with Long-Term UX in the context of software startups. This doctoral thesis addresses the following research problem: How can professionals in software startups conduct UX Research practices integrated with Long-Term UX, given that they operate in an agile software development environment with limited resources? To answer this question, this doctoral thesis reports on the development and evaluation of the UX Research and Long-term UX in Action: Guidelines for Practice in Software Startups (UXAction-GP Framework), a theory formulated using the Socio-Technical Grounded Theory (STGT). The STGT methodology guided the execution of a systematic literature review and three distinct case studies, whose data were subjected to qualitative analysis. The emerging findings, identified codes, and categories provided the foundation for the UXAction-GP Framework. The framework’s architecture also incorporates technologies such as Generative AI and Machine Learning to train a model based on the results derived from the STGT approach. Two applications, AthenaUX and PALUX Research, were developed to explore the potential applications of the UXAction-GP Framework. Both applications underwent controlled experiments to assess user effort, frustration, and perceived achievement. The UXAction-GP Framework constitutes a solution to the identified research problem and offers substantial recommendations to support software startup professionals in conducting UX Research and Long-Term UX.
