listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A relação entre mindfulness e inteligência emocional investigada por meio de relato subjetivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-30) Barbieri, Raoni Floret; Muniz, Monalisa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9444899939943716The relationships between the two constructs of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Mindfulness became a major focus of study in the early 2010s. Since then, numerous studies have delved deeper into EI, as well as quantitative research aimed to connect EI with the descriptive characteristics of mindfulness. In this context, this research sought to complement these findings through subjective analysis, comparing data collected in semi-structured interviews with the four EI factors defined by Mayer, Salovey, and Caruso. Accordingly, the objective of this study was to investigate the use of Bacillus as a management strategy for soybean seed treatment through a bibliometric analysis, and to evaluate the physiological potential of soybean seeds and the biostimulant effects of commercial formulations based on Bacillus spp. in relation to storage duration and environmental conditions. For this purpose, an exploratory bibliometric analysis was conducted over a 25-year period (2000 to 2024) on the topic of soybean seed treatment with Bacillus spp., and experimental trials were carried out with five seed treatments (B. amyloliquefaciens PTA 4838; B. subtilis CNPSo 2657; B. firmus I1582; abamectin; imidacloprid + thiodicarb) plus a control, under two storage durations (initial analysis and 180 days). For the latter period, the effects of storage in a chamber under controlled conditions (10°C and 40% relative humidity) and under uncontrolled conditions were analyzed. The results of the bibliometric analysis revealed a diversification of applications starting in 2014, with a growing trend in the use of these microorganisms for the management of fungal diseases and nematodes, with B. subtilis being the most extensively studied species. Regarding the second line of investigation, the application of commercial products based on Bacillus spp. resulted in significant reductions in the incidence of Aspergillus spp., improved final seedling germination, germination speed index, laboratory emergence speed, and biostimulant effects, including increases in root system length and dry matter of both shoots and roots, across both storage periods and under controlled environmental conditions. Moreover, under simulated water deficit conditions, Bacillus spp. was able to maintain the physiological potential of seeds in terms of germination variables and root system length. Temperature and humidity control were decisive factors in preserving the physiological potential of the seeds. The information regarding the effects of Bacillus spp.-based products on seed physiological performance may support integrated management programs in achieving better seedling development outcomes while aligning with the environmental requirements of sustainable production systems.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O trabalho que faz sofrer, o sofrimento que faz trabalhar: o trabalho dos técnicos-administrativos nas universidades públicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-30) Roldão, João Marcos Leão; Scopinho, Rosemeire Aparecida; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4770451465556845; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3981742855647524This dissertation aimed to understand how the psychological suffering experienced by technical-administrative staff at public universities is instrumentalized by New Public Management. Grounded in the theoretical framework of the Psychodynamics of Work, the study starts from the hypothesis that defensive strategies, far from being mere side effects of precarization, can be appropriated as mechanisms for intensifying and controlling work in a context marked by the dismantling of labor conditions, workforce, and career structures. The research was conducted at two public universities through semi-structured interviews with eight technical-administrative staff experiencing work-related suffering. The data were analyzed using Work Clinical Analysis and Thematic Content Analysis. Examination of institutional structures and participant narratives revealed that experiences of suffering emerged in various forms of organizational violence and were intensified by managerial strategies that operationalized the dialectic of exclusion/inclusion, the banalization of social injustices, and subjective precarization. Furthermore, practices such as moral harassment, work overload, academic authoritarianism, and the erosion of technical-administrative identity not only produced suffering but also reinforced performance and submission to alienated labor, even in the face of increasing precarization. The dissertation concludes that, within universities influenced by New Public Management, the instrumentalization of suffering becomes a low-cost, high-return mechanism for maintaining academic productivism – which, in turn, is elevated to a survival imperative amid budget cuts and growing dependence on private funding and support from research funding agencies.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Anotação de corpus: caracterização de Entidades Nomeadas em tweets do mercado financeiro(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-30) Piai, Laís; Di Felippo, Ariani; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8648412103197455; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4566-9352; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6432497406260164; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1441-8550Corpus annotation is a cornerstone of Natural Language Processing (NLP), providing the foundation for training and evaluating Machine Learning systems, as well as for investigating linguistic behavior in various domains. A key challenge in this area is the annotation of Named Entities (NEs) in user-generated content (UGC). The informal language and a wide range of platform and domain-specific phenomena found in tweets demand highly adapted annotation methodologies. This dissertation addresses this challenge by conducting an independent reannotation of the DANTEStocks, a Portuguese corpus of 4,048 financial market tweets (84,396 tokens). While a previous annotation based on the 10 general categories of the Second HAREM existed, our work expands this taxonomy to a more granular set of 47 types. This was achieved by refining the original guidelines based on linguistically motivated decisions and by introducing four new domain-specific types: certificate, indicator, ticker, and user. The annotation was carried out by a single annotator using a semi-automatic approach that combined rule-based methods with manual curation, resulting in a new reference annotation and a comprehensive set of guidelines. The resulting annotation comprises 20,092 entities (24,825 tokens). A detailed characterization of the corpus revealed a linguistic profile dominated by single-token (i.e. those consisting of a single word) entities and by specific stock market types such as ticker, money, and virtual. The main contributions of this work are therefore: the enrichment of the DANTEStocks corpus with a fine-grained NE annotation, a set of guidelines for annotating UGC, and a discussion of the strategies developed to overcome the inherent challenges of this task.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Cenário atual das práticas de reabilitação funcional de adultos pela terapia ocupacional no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-30) Finarde, Tamara Neves; Carrijo, Débora Couto de Melo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9096851520328385; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2463-6690; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5633849059497808; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-6203-2887; Sime, Mariana Midori; Martinez, Claudia Maria Simões; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1317884299993069; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1371315095038350Occupational Therapy practices in the field of physical rehabilitation in Brazil have historically been grounded in a set of profession-specific knowledge, while also being influenced by service demands, the advancement of scientific evidence, and national and international policies. The perspectives of theoretical models and practical frameworks also guide these practices, in alignment with academic production. This study aims to characterize the professional practice of occupational therapists working in adult physical rehabilitation in Brazil. It is a quantitative and qualitative study with a descriptive and exploratory design, conducted in two phases. The first phase consisted of data collection through a self-administered semi-structured questionnaire, developed by a group of researchers and made available online via Google Forms®. The second phase involved semi-structured interviews. In the first phase, the sample consisted of 109 occupational therapists with undergraduate degrees who work in adult physical rehabilitation; in the second phase, 19 professionals were interviewed. Regarding sample characteristics, 59% of participants were between 31 and 40 years old, and 64.8% had completed postgraduate specialization programs, particularly in the areas of wheelchair provision, assistive technology, and orthoses. Concerning their workplaces, 56.5% were employed in rehabilitation centers and 44.4% in clinics, with most professionals working in two or more settings. Participants reported frequent use of both standardized instruments and tools developed within their own services. The Functional Independence Measure (FIM) was reported by 56% of the sample; however, when considering all instruments cited, it accounted for 13.4% of the total. Notably, 63.5% of the instruments primarily assess body structure and function domains, according to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Among the most frequently reported therapeutic practices were exercises, performed by 75% of respondents. Qualitative findings indicated that institutional contexts—including practice settings, management, and service dynamics—impact the work of occupational therapists. Mastery of the ICF framework was observed as a means to enhance team communication; however, there was limited appropriation of Occupational Therapy theoretical models and critical reflection on their relevance to practice. Nevertheless, the concept of occupation was identified as guiding professional reasoning. Although most professionals reported additional training in assistive technology, its practical application—such as prescription, fabrication, or adaptation—was not frequent. The study concludes that it provides relevant contributions to the field of physical rehabilitation in Occupational Therapy and supports the strengthening of public policies aimed at adult rehabilitation. Furthermore, the data collection instrument used in the first phase proved to be important in promoting professional reflection on practice within the context of functional health and physical rehabilitation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Livros, discurso e política: como uma aposta dobrada no paradigma de “massas” ancorou, no Brasil, uma coesão “um pouco mais à direita”(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-30) Pereira, Thiago Augusto Carlos; Angermuller, Johannes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/semregistro; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4675-9202; Curcino, Luzmara; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4849994635754652; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3555-1446; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0949042909392114; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7555-7765; Saferstein, Ezequiel Andres; Narzetti, Claudiana Nair Pothin; Sá, Israel; Ribeiro, Jocenilson; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2379100029014413; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8992079880490308; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8985943014913431; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1816-4164; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5527-440X; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5014-6636; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8716-5059This doctoral thesis investigates the emergence of a right-leaning cohesion that became hegemonic in Brazil around 2013, mirrored in an editorial field typified by trendsetter authors such as Olavo de Carvalho. We begin with Carvalho’s trilogy published between 1994 and 1996, as well as his activity in open courses and newspaper columns, to understand how his work exemplifies a double-down bet on the “masses” paradigm. Carvalho’s writings, we argue, would come to organize the discursive conditions that would later constitute this cohesion and the editorial segment that sustains it. In examining it, we observe that the phenomenon increasingly structures itself through books – taken not merely as vehicles of ideas but as discursive devices of validation, promoting shared meanings and “relations between people” articulated from a position slightly to the right of Brazil’s 1988 democratic framework. Our guiding hypothesis is that this field is discursively and politically structured by a double-down bet on the paradigm of the “masses,” defined, following Jesús Martín-Barbero (1987), as a belief (a) in the ineptitude of the masses, (b) in the inviability of mediations, and (c) in the permanent delegation of historical agency to allegedly superior individuals. The study is organized around three complementary dimensions: (i) an ontological analysis of the book as object—considering its unifying effects, its relation to authorship, and its market aspects; (ii) an editorial genealogy encompassing at least three generations of authors (subscribers and typifiers) of the cohesion; and (iii) a detailed analysis of the mechanisms of discursive regulation that constitute it, beginning with Carvalho’s work, interpreted here as a (pseudo)-epistemological dimension of this double-down bet (as exemplified by the cohesion). Along this path, we also consider the works of Reinaldo Azevedo and Martin Vasques da Cunha—representatives of the segment in the second and third “thirds,” respectively—as well as apologetic productions from the later period (such as those of Escorsim and Berlanza). We demonstrate that this cohesion defines itself by rejecting the common middle ground established by the representative pact of 1988, positioning itself slightly to its right and taking said double-down bet as its synthesis. The doctoral thesis thus contributes to debates on contemporary political culture and on the ways cultural objects—such as the book—operate in favor of ideological arrangements seeking legitimacy at the margins of academia.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Palavras, psique e pandemia: discursos sobre sonhos durante o surto de Covid-19 no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-30) Soares, Flávio; Piovezani Filho, Carlos Félix; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1677609008094603; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3612-983X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0796481395549129; https://orcid.org/0009-0003-2738-5609At the beginning of century XXI, due to a traumatic event that present us a global health crisis and a far-right government that ascends the power, we observe beyond individual and collective traumas, a sequence of statements about dreams that passed in Brazil. This way, according to the production of conditions, and considering the emergency of these statements, this research intends to identify, select, describe and interpret what it is said and the ways of saying about this object. To better exposure the aims of this work, it should be added that the study in question has a perspective: i: draw a speech panorama about dreams in different production conditions in the long historical duration, in order identify what is preserved, it resumes, updates, develops, and transforms, into similar statements produced in Brazil during the COVID 19 pandemic.; ii. to understand the discursive processes of statements about materialized dreams during the coronavirus outbreak, aiming to verify whether they reproduce, reformulate (in various ways: as of additions, omissions, inflections, etc.), or erase discourses about dreams produced under historical and social conditions of trauma; iii. Describe, and interpret some statements in their relationships with the emotions in speeches about materialized dreams in Brazil in the pandemic period to signal the presence and agency of sensations and emotions in discourse, phenomena central to the constitution of subjects and meaning, particularly in discursive production tied to collective trauma. For so much, this study uses the theoretical and methodological foundations of Speech analysis, from Foucault's discursive studies and the "new" historiographical currents, as sensitivity of History. As for the results, we basically observe how the experience of dreaming, the dream narrative and the interpretation of this phenomenon, as well as its senses, values and functions, they are closely linked to historical, politics and social events, in other words, we see how, in different social formations, the discourses about dreams are build, updated, resumed, transformed and silenced. Especifically, during the pandemic time, we saw how certain speeches authorized some subjects, considered qualified entering the order of speech and take a position of contemporary dream interpreters; we learn how she/woman , health professionals, and teachers general population and health/education workers, they formed a privileged group of dreamers; and we identify how in exceptional times, certain leaders can penetrate dreamlike productions to represent power relations, the struggles and systems of domination of a certain social formation. Finally, we learned how certain speeches about dreams highlighted the affections and/or states of fear, destitution, depression, and happiness.
