    This research aims to analyze land use and land cover changes and their influence on land surface temperature in the Revuboe River Basin, Mozambique, over the period from 2005 to 2023, through the application of remote sensing techniques and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The research addresses a gap in environmental studies applied to the region, while providing technical and scientific support for sustainable territorial planning. The work is structured into three main chapters, in addition to the introduction and final considerations: Chapter I – literature review: presents a theoretical and conceptual discussion on land use and land cover changes, relating them to environmental and climatic effects, with particular emphasis on land surface temperature. It also discusses the fundamentals of remote sensing, its relevance in environmental analysis, and the contributions of different studies carried out in national and international contexts. Chapter II – Temporal analysis of land use and land cover changes: examines the temporal dynamics of land use and land cover, mapping and quantifying the main land use classes in the Revuboe River Basin for the years 2005, 2009, 2015, 2020, and 2023. Chapter III – Relationship between Land Use Changes and Land Surface Temperature: focuses on the analysis of the relationship between land use/land cover changes and land surface temperature, describing the spatial and temporal variability of surface temperature and establishing its correlation with landscape transformations. Overall, the dissertation demonstrates that land use transformations in the Revuboe River Basin, driven by agricultural expansion, urban growth, and mining activities, have caused significant changes in the surface thermal regime, contributing to the intensification of environmental degradation processes and microclimatic impacts. The findings provide technical-scientific support for decision-makers and policymakers, guiding environmental monitoring strategies, impact mitigation, and the promotion of land use practices more closely aligned with sustainability principles.

    Habitat fragmentation limits the movement and mating of Leontopithecus chrysomelas, reducing genetic variability and increasing the risk of inbreeding. In Rio de Janeiro State, individuals accidentally introduced into an area of the Atlantic Forest pose a threat to local wildlife and public health due to the risk of hybridization and transmission of unknown pathogens. This research conducted an anatomical study of the testes of L. chrysomelas using ultrasound and histological examinations of the different stages of maturation, identifying the spermatogenic lineage present in the germinal epithelium of the seminiferous tubules. The result will be a morphological description of the testes and epididymis of this species, and the knowledge generated may support comparative studies of the reproductive ecology of neotropical primates, as well as aid in the development of techniques such as cryopreservation of testicular tissue.

    Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) is the most widely consumed leafy vegetable in Brazil, and hydroponic cultivation stands out for its productive efficiency and quality. Plant growth-promoting microorganisms, such as Trichoderma asperellum, have been used as a sustainable alternative to stimulate root development, nutrient absorption, and stress tolerance. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of inoculating different T. asperellum strains (URM 5911, CBMAI 1622, and BV10) on the growth of lettuce seedlings (cv. Gabriela) and their subsequent performance under hydroponic cultivation, comparing two application methods: seedling inoculation and direct inoculation in the nutrient solution. The experiments were conducted in a nursery and in a hydroponic NFT system. In the nursery phase, inoculation was carried out at 7 and 25 days after emergence, with assessments of root length, shoot growth, and biomass. In hydroponics, plants derived from previously inoculated seedlings and plants inoculated directly in the nutrient solution were evaluated at different cultivation periods. The results demonstrated that the fungus effects were dependent on the strain, the application method, and the cultivation time. In the nursery phase, strain URM 5911 stood out by increasing total weight and root biomass, conferring greater seedling vigor. In hydroponics, during the early growth period, inoculated seedlings showed advantages in root length and total biomass, whereas at the end of the cycle, inoculation via nutrient solution favored shoot biomass production and total weight. Nevertheless, seedling inoculation maintained superior performance for root dry mass. It can be concluded that both application methods present specific advantages: seedling inoculation favors initial development and root vigor, while inoculation in the nutrient solution enhances aerial biomass and overall productivity. Strain selection proved decisive, with URM 5911 and BV10 showing the most consistent results, while CBMAI 1622 exhibited less expressive effects under the evaluated conditions. These findings highlight the potential of T. asperellum as a bioinput for promoting growth in hydroponic lettuce systems.

    São José do Rio Preto, a city of 480,000 inhabitants in the interior of São Paulo, is the seat of the newly created Metropolitan Region comprising 37 municipalities whose main economic activity is sugarcane agroindustry, and which depend heavily on the hub city in all areas of the economy. There is regional inequality in development and population growth: while the hub city and its surroundings have seen significant population gains, more distant cities have suffered a decline in population. The phenomenon of urban expansion in São José do Rio Preto has been considered dispersed and exclusionary since the last decades of the 20th century, and, according to more recent studies, continues to occur in the same way. This research is dedicated to a study on a local scale, focused on the urban structure of the hub city and its surroundings, and on a regional scale, bringing up contemporary issues such as the new dynamics imposed by the creation of the Metropolitan Region of São José do Rio Preto, taking it as a case study. On a regional scale, the results point to the expansion of sugarcane cultivation as an important factor in changes in environmental, economic, and urban dynamics, promoting a decline in productive diversity and in the capacity of municipalities to offer jobs and services that meet the needs of their inhabitants. The municipalities were grouped according to patterns based on their degree of regional integration, demonstrating that distance, rural productive diversity, the presence of manufacturing industry, and social housing are important factors for the development of small municipalities. The dependence of municipalities on the hub city establishes a significant pendulum effect in an extensive migration zone, resulting in dispersed urbanization in the region. At the local level, the results show sprawling occupation, with the creation of urban voids; urban fragments in rural areas; and socio-spatial segregation in the municipality and its neighbors. The appreciation of land in the process of urban expansion in Rio Preto and neighboring cities was evident, as was the movement to increase the value of already consolidated subdivisions, where vacant lots or remaining plots are the subject of real estate speculation. Faced with a scenario of a territory taken over by the advance of sugarcane cultivation and the installation of sugar and alcohol mills, the fight against regional inequality must seek innovative strategies, identifying potential economic activities that can bring development to small municipalities.

    The present research sought to understand the dynamics of the conditions of possibility and historical contingency, experienced between the years 2006 and 2023, which engendered the transformations of the curricular structure of the in-person Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy of the largest unit of UEMG: the unity of Passos, examining to what extent the virtual connection between neoliberal governmentality and education was propagated in the PPC of the Pedagogy course and which discourses are supported as truths and to what extent these transformations are crossed by the relation betweenpower, subjectivity and difference. The corpus of the analysis was constituted by the PPC, published between the years 2006 and 2023, considered by me as one of the privileged artifacts, for being dealing with documents that were elaborated before and after the estadualization of UEMG. I cast, therefore, some looks at the curriculum of the Pedagogy course, academic unit of Passos and take as inspiration the production perspective of the French philosopher Michel Foucault and its extension to the field of the curriculum that allow me to think, the concrete world of discursive and non-discursive practices, the reality, the conditions of possibility, emergence and existence of the UEMG of Passos and the curriculum of the Pedagogy course of this unit. The analysis generated here allows me to affirm that the PPC published before the period of stateization of the university, or during the initial moment of its transition, articulate to the forms of neoliberal governmentality, that is, to an economic rationality and in this way, they operate the subjectivation of the vigilantly competing subject. In this sense, curricular policies and pedagogical projects that flirt with neoliberal governmentality can not promote the affirmation of difference and therefore it is urgent a curriculum-crossroads that makes of "thought a nomadic power", that is, a counter-revolution, that it goes through thinking the difference as a human right, that is, the right to difference, to others.
