Over the years, there have been several developments in the field of remote sensing and the application of this practice in conjunction with the use of artificial intelligence (machine learning, deep learning), allowing mappings to be carried out remotely and efficiently. Combining these factors, the delineation of wetlands has been conducted in research using different methods. This Systematic Literature Review aimed to compare these methodologies and define which would be the most suitable for the southwestern region of São Paulo, in addition to discussing the role of artificial intelligence in these processes. From this, it was determined that the best method would be the application of a hybrid workflow, combining multisensor data, deep learning, and object-based segmentation, being capable of mapping marshes, wet fields, and palm swamps in the region, as well as highlighting that the role of artificial intelligence is to assist in the process, automating stages and reducing the time required for mapping.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Determinantes do desperdício de alimentos em restaurantes universitários: evidências empíricas a partir de fatores explicativos do comensal, do ambiente e do alimento(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-11-11) Porto, Fernanda; Silva, Andrea; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2380499339281186; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3849-9698; Batalha, Mario Otávio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1015001063418091; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2711-3358; ; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0273025609747341; https://orcid.org/0009-0006-9227-9601; Batalha, Mario; Silva, Andrea; Campos, Lucila Maria de Souza; Deliberador, Lucas; https://lattes.cnpq.br/101500106341809; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2380499339281186; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0734311707280115; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4531645163227449; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2711-3358; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3849-9698; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1610-7617; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3241-6089Food waste is a global phenomenon. A significant amount of food is wasted every year, and this has become a priority issue in international agendas, given its environmental, social, and economic impacts. This process occurs in several phases of the food chain. Food waste in the consumer food service sector is particularly significant. This sector is an important potential source of solid residue, demanding special attention due to the environmental, social, and economic impacts observed in this process. The development of practical actions to reduce food waste in public services can result in not only budget savings but also environmental benefits. In this context, this paper identified the main reasons that lead diners at a university restaurant commit food waste and examines the relationships among these reasons.. After a Literature Review, it was able to identify some reasons that drive customers to food waste. Subsequently, an analytical framework was proposed to measure these drivers empirically. During field data collection, research was conducted with 421 students who use the cafeteria at Mato Grosso Federal University. The techniques of data analysis chosen were Structural Equation Modeling and the Kruskal-Wallis Test. Results confirmed 12 out of 19 tested hypothesis. Statistical analyses confirm twelve of the nineteen hypotheses tested in research on the topic. The results revealed that food waste in university restaurants does not stem from isolated factors, but from a complex network of factorswhethr related to the diner, the environment, or the food. Intrinsic human factors such as behavioral intention and self-awareness showed a more direct relationship with wasted food waste than factors related to the environment or the food. The results suggest a change in the current approach used for campaigns and policies to reduce food waste in canteens.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo exploratório inicial sobre a gestão de resíduos sólidos em Atibaia–SP: desafios e oportunidades de melhorias(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-11-11) Munari, Beatriz; Saavedra, Yovana María Barrera ; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5009165247354319; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1306-0382; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3403413363813486In the Brazilian context, by 2025, the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) marks its 15th anniversary, standing out for one of its maen principles: shared responsibility for the product life cycle, in which public authorities, manufacturers, as well as consumers share responsibility for the impacts resulting from waste generation. In this context, the main objective of this study is to conduct an initial exploratory assessment of solid waste management in the municipality of Atibaia. The research examined two settings: the practices of waste generation and management within a residential complex, and the dynamics involved in the operations of a local recycling cooperative. To this end, the study adopted a mixed quantitative–qualitative approach to preliminarily explore the urban solid waste context in the city. Based on data analysis, structural, operational, and occupational safety challenges were identified within the cooperative, in addition to difficulties related to residents’ engagement in proper waste separation and disposal. The study also found a lack of continuous environmental education initiatives and communication among the involved actors, which poses risks to the efficiency of the recycling process. Drawing from this diagnosis, a guide was developed proposing improvements aimed at community awareness and the implementation of more efficient waste management measures. Thus, the study reinforces the importance of integrating public authorities, cooperatives, and the community to strengthen sustainable urban solid waste management practices and contribute to the objectives of the PNRS.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Filosofia no ensino médio público do sudoeste paulista, desafios e possibilidades: uma proposta de guia pedagógico crítico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-11-11) Cordeiro, Ricardo Xavier; Maamari, Adriana Mattar; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5707827597161294; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0831142684965939; Bezerra Neto, Luiz; Tomazetti, Elisete Medianeira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4809080593333472; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3942924352722374Este estudio aborda la enseñanza de la Filosofía en los Medios de Enseñanza de la red pública del Suroeste Paulista, analizando cómo esta disciplina puede contribuir a la formación crítica y la autonomía intelectual del alumnado. Specifically, it aimed to identify the municipality's guidelines regarding learning recovery, investigate how schools organized learning recovery proposals, understand how teachers understand the proposals and how they develop strategies for student learning recovery, and learn about the participants' significant experiences regarding the learning recovery process, considering the possible reinterpretations of pedagogical action. Based on Vygotsky's Historical-Cultural Theory, the category of experience (perejivánie) is adopted as a unit of analysis capable of integrating subjective and objective dimensions of the educational process, with a focus on actions in favor of learning recovery, highlighting the impacts of the pandemic on teachers and students. The research combined analysis of academic publications, a survey of legislation on learning recovery in Brazil, interviews with teachers linked to the Learning Workshop Project, and observations in participating schools, recorded in field diaries. Among the results obtained, we highlight that the actions of the Department of Education to recover learning were fragmented and poorly coordinated, dependent on the individual efforts of teachers. Projects such as the Learning Workshop and Mediating Learning had limited reach and suffered from a lack of planning, training, and resources. The absence of continuous and integrated policies aggravated educational inequalities and compromised the effectiveness of learning recovery. The study identified conceptual confusion between the terms recovery, reinforcement, and learning recomposition, both in legislation and in teaching practice, which impacts the effectiveness of school actions. The research proposed understanding these modalities as complementary: recovery aims to ensure the appropriation of essential learning that has not been consolidated after its formal approach; reinforcement aims to consolidate, deepen, and expand partially appropriated learning, preventing future gaps; and recomposition aims to intentionally reorganize the curriculum and practices to address structural or contextual learning gaps. Based on Vygotsky's category of experience (perejivánie), it was revealed that the process of post-pandemic learning recovery involved strong contradictions between environment and subject, marked by teacher overload, lack of support, and structural inequalities. It is concluded that learning recovery goes beyond content replacement, requiring the reconstruction of bonds, integrated practices, and public policies that ensure the right to learn with dignity and equity.
