In this context, understanding the dynamics of credit spreads and their relationship with net fund flows becomes essential for portfolio management. This study analyzes this relationship using the Idex–CDI JGP, a representative index of liquid debentures indexed to the CDI, as a benchmark for measuring spread behavior. The methodology combines econometric and machine learning techniques, beginning with a correlation analysis between spreads and net fund flows using different lags and deseasonalized series. A moderate negative short-term correlation was observed, consistent with higher risk aversion, but it strengthens significantly after deseasonalization, reaching a Pearson coefficient above 0.82 at around a ten-month lag. The Weighted Least Squares (WLS) model delivered an excellent fit, with an R² above 0.90, and showed that the lagged spread is a strong determinant of net fund flows. To forecast the spreads, both univariate models (spread only) and multivariate models (spread and net fund flows) were tested within a three-stage pipeline: an autoregressive model with Elastic Net, a correction step, and a final horizon-based forecasting stage using the HistGradientBoostingRegressor, along with Spearman selection, clipping, and calibration. The univariate model performed strongly in the very short term but lost accuracy over longer horizons. The incorporation of flow-related variables produced limited gains at short horizons, but it improved predictive accuracy over longer forecasting windows, indicating that net fund flows contribute to identifying different phases of the credit cycle.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Eficácia de diferentes aplicativos para smartphones na identificação de espécies de árvores nativas usadas na restauração da Mata Atlântica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Fernandes, Gabriel Henrique de Aguilar; Viani, Ricardo Augusto Gorne; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3250752369062840Botanical identification is extremely important in various stages of ecological restoration, whether in complying with legal requirements, ecological monitoring, or ensuring the success of restoration actions. Many methods are available for this purpose, and more recently, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in species recognition has become prominent, such as in smartphone applications. This study evaluated the effectiveness of the PlantNet, iNaturalist, and Google Lens applications in identifying native tree species used in Atlantic Forest restoration. Leaves, flowers, and fruits were photographed and submitted to the applications under standardized conditions. The results indicated better performance by iNaturalist, followed by PlantNet, both with high accuracy rates on the first suggestion and low error rates, while Google Lens showed lower reliability, with a high frequency of incorrect suggestions. Greater accuracy was observed when using images of flowers, although this condition is not always available. The use of artificial backgrounds in the photographs decreased accuracy. In conclusion, although specialized applications represent promising tools to support identification activities in ecological restoration, their isolated use does not replace botanical knowledge, and validation of the suggestions is necessary to avoid errors that could compromise properly identification of restoration stages.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Atividade fotocatalítica das heteroestruturas de g-C3N4:NB2O5 na degradação de fármacos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Silva, Júlia Duarte Praxedes; Souza, Ernesto Chaves Pereira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1505400360366643; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1058-302X; ; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9020597188603064In recent years, the frequent detection of emerging contaminants in aquatic matrices has raised concerns, as these substances are difficult to remove and may pose various risks to human health and aquatic life, since there is no effective control over them. These pollutants belong to different classes, such as industrial residues, personal care products, and chemical compounds, with pharmaceuticals standing out—such as fluoxetine (FLX), an antidepressant used worldwide—which has been detected in water and wastewater treatment plants. These facilities were not designed for the efficient removal of such compounds, resulting in their persistence in water even after conventional treatments. Thus, the development of techniques for the removal of these contaminants has become necessary, and Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) are an example. This is a sustainable and effective method for removing these substances, as hotocatalysis generates free radicals, such as hydroxyl radicals (•OH), which promote the degradation of pollutants, transforming them into less toxic and simpler species, such as carbon dioxide, water, or other easily removable compounds. The development of photocatalysts using low-cost materials and visible radiation is a way to make this technique more accessible and promising. Therefore, the objective of this work was to evaluate, through the literature, the degradation of FLX by heterogeneous photocatalysis using a heterostructure of carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) and niobium pentoxide (Nb₂O₅), which can be synthesized by a microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, with both materials being abundant and low-cost. The results obtained from the studies reviewed in the literature showed that the method was efficient for the degradation of the pharmaceutical and, consequently, for its removal from wastewater, indicating the possibility of application in the treatment of effluents contaminated with medications. In view of this, the importance of monitoring emerging contaminants and their effects is evident, as well as the need for environmental remediation alternatives aimed at preserving the environment.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Unlocking rapid electrocoagulation: performance of 3D porous aluminum electrodes for industrial textile wastewater treatment(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Sgarbi, Ricardo; Ruotolo, Luis Augusto Martins; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2388966785886132; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6167735734348703In this work, a novel designed electrocoagulation (EC) reactor utilizing three-dimensional (3D) aluminum electrodes was investigated for industrial textile wastewater treatment. Statistical analysis revealed that operational parameters (current density, coagulation time, and flow rate) had a greater influence on process performance than wastewater properties (pH and conductivity), avoiding the need for chemical inputs. Optimal performance was achieved with shortest coagulation time, promoted by dual features: (i) a balanced combination of flotation and sedimentation for pollutant removal, and (ii) sufficient aluminum coagulant release and mixing turbulence promoted by the operational conditions. Thus, the operation achieved high removal efficiencies, 90 % for turbidity, 89 % for total organic carbon (TOC), and 69 % for color, within just 4 min, coupled with a low energy demand of ca. 1.1 kWh m−3. Furthermore, in-situ electrochemical potential profiling across the 3D Al electrode thickness confirmed the existence of a region between the cathode and anode that enhances collisions between released aluminum coagulant and pollutants, thus promoting floc formation and posterior segregation via sedimentation and flotation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Probabilidade em alta dimensão com aplicações em ciência de dados(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Giacomini, Felipe Luis; Ramos, Thiago Rodrigo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1634196230063965; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0923225076571076With the advancement of machine learning, new challenges have arisen in the creation and analysis of efficient predictive algorithms. One of the main obstacles is the curse of dimensionality, in which the increase in the number of variables compromises the performance of usual models. This loss of predictive power arises from the behavior of random variables in high dimensions, a phenomenon that can be explained through results from probability and statistical learning theory. In this work, we present and demonstrate these foundations, highlighting the central role of measure concentration in their deductions. To make understanding more intuitive, we perform simulations that illustrate these concepts. Finally, we discuss how this theory can support methods capable of mitigating the challenges imposed by high dimensionality.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Diagnóstico da atuação do Ministério Público do Estado de São Paulo em São José do Rio Pardo a partir de conflitos ambientais institucionalizados(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Sousa, Isabel Cristina Nunes de; Sousa, Maria Carolina Chaves de; Oliveira, Celso Maran de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8572329722251988; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0164488794718542; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9911833172043700Objetivo – Neste estudo são analisados os dados dos procedimentos ambientais instaurados e conduzidos pela Promotoria de Justiça de São José do Rio Pardo, vinculada ao Ministério Público do Estado de São Paulo (MPSP), no período de 2016 a 2023. Those WLs limit the transport current capacity of a superconductor, but they also exhibit effects that can be explored in possible superconducting devices. A granular system containing two grains and a single WL on a thin film shows a magnetic response similar to those observed in granular materials, allowing one to study grain-intergrain relations by this system. In this work, we implemented the T-A formulation, commonly used to model high critical temperature superconducting cables, to model the granular system mentioned, with 45°, 60°, and 90° tilted WLs. The results we obtained showed that the T-A formulation is able to reproduce experimental results of magnetic field distribution through the samples with orthogonal and tilted WL observed when subject to a perpendicular applied magnetic field. In particular, the relationship between transparency and the angle between discontinuity lines (d-lines), τ = cos θ, was recovered from the simulated model.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Processamento de linguagem natural aplicado a notícias futebolísticas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Franzotti, Murilo Rejani; Ramos, Thiago Rodrigo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1634196230063965Natural Language Processing (NLP) is an important set of techniques and tools suitable for text analysis and, when combined with the efficient use of data collection procedures from the internet, web scraping, they form effective processes for their analysis. In the context of football, sports news plays a significant role in events, as it describes and, in many cases, causes such facts. Analyzing these texts results in significant indicators about football-related events, as they reflect the desires and thoughts of fans. Furthermore, from a temporal perspective, it is possible to distinguish when an event impacts the football world, either through an increase in the number of news articles or through the strengthening of relationships between one word and another. With this in mind, analyzing the similarity between players and coaches and their respective clubs and national teams leads to conclusions regarding how impactful an event was for the audience that follows the sport. Thus, through news articles, it is possible to obtain relevant indicators from the end of 2023 until the penultimate quarter of 2025. For example, the fact that the player Neymar transferred to Santos corroborated his media exposure, and with Messi moving to play in the United States, rumors of his retirement increased, as the spotlight is no longer focused on the player. In addition, titles significantly increase a club’s appearance in the media, such as Botafogo’s victories in the Brazilian Championship and the Copa Libertadores at the end of 2024. These and other events impact the football world, and it is possible to analyze this through this type of data, namely, news articles..listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O esporte na Educação Física Escolar sul-americana: uma análise dos sentidos emergentes de documentos curriculares da Argentina, Brasil, Chile e Uruguai(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Baroni, Ana Beatriz Sgotti; Souza Júnior, Osmar Moreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9176123942671062; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2915-5634; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5490542364497927; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-2251-6571The study in question aims to analyze the meanings attributed to sports in school physical education in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay, based on the national curriculum documents of each country. Faced with market saturation and the declining effectiveness of transactional differentiators, such as price, delivery options and discounts, Company A sought to understand the determinants of customer loyalty and repurchase behavior. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, combining a structured quantitative survey previously conducted by the company with 300 B2B and B2C respondents, and a qualitative stage composed of ten semi-structured interviews conducted by the researcher. Quantitative results reveal the predominance of functional purchases, strong influence of logistical convenience and high market fragmentation, particularly among non-customers. Qualitative findings highlight trust, proximity, responsive support and a seamless experience as the main drivers of loyalty. The integrated analysis shows that retention depends on the interaction between operational efficiency (CX), reliable post- purchase support (CS) and continuous relationship building, confirming that CX and CS operate as complementary dimensions of value creation. The study also identifies post-sales technical assistance as a strategic opportunity to increase repurchase intention, reduce churn and encourage customers to migrate toward higher-value products. Overall, sustainable competitive advantage in retail derives less from transactional benefits and more from the ability to deliver consistent value throughout the customer journey, aligning experience, trust and customer success.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Mapeamento da produção acadêmica sobre analogia no ensino de química (2011-2021)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12) Santos, Mariana Ferreira dos; Rosa, José Víctor Acioli da; Souza, Gahelyka Aghta Pantano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5717478112353570; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9400201255687070; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6377137029784992; https://orcid.org/0009-0008-1672-8991; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0923-3372; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1548-3853Este estudo faz parte de uma pesquisa maior, desenvolvida a nível de mestrado. This qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study interviewed marketing, CRM, and operations managers to understand how companies define inactivity, manage customer data, segment portfolios, and conduct reactivation campaigns. The findings highlight a critical issue: incomplete and poorly integrated databases, which make it difficult to identify customer profiles, personalize approaches, and measure results accurately. The use of predictive analysis and customer lifetime metrics remains limited, with an excessive focus on short-term returns. On the other hand, promising opportunities are emerging — such as process automation, artificial intelligence for early inactivity detection, personalized multichannel communication, and compliance with data protection laws as a trust-building element. The application of the Ishikawa Diagram and SWOT Matrix clarified root causes and strategic priorities. Based on the study’s findings, it is concluded that reactivation is no longer a one- time effort but a continuous process supported by reliable data, thoughtful communication, and technological integration; when these pillars evolve together, return rates increase, reactivation costs decrease, and long-term relationships in the wholesale food sector are strengthened.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Incremento de biomassa e carbono de espécies arbóreas usadas na restauração da Mata Atlântica(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) José, Aline Hipananiro Apolinário; Viani, Ricardo Augusto Gorne; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3250752369062840; BaniwaClimate change mitigation requires not only reducing emissions but also strengthening carbon sinks through strategies such as ecological restoration. In Brazil, the Atlantic Forest remains highly fragmented, with mature remnants restricted to a small portion of the biome’s legally defined area, reinforcing the importance of conservation and restoration efforts. This study quantified biomass and carbon stocks and their increments for tree species in an Atlantic Forest restoration area four years (53 months) after establishment, using allometric equations suitable for young forests within the biome. Diameter at 30 cm above ground and total height were measured, and biomass was estimated by species; carbon was derived from biomass. The system reached a mean biomass stock of 51.3 Mg ha⁻¹ and a mean carbon stock of 25.6 Mg C ha⁻¹, resulting in a mean annual carbon increment of 5.8 Mg C ha⁻¹ year⁻¹. Species-level variation was observed, with a wide range of individual biomass and annual carbon increments, indicating differences in early performance and contribution to short-term carbon gains during the initial years of restoration. Guazuma ulmifolia showed the highest biomass and carbon stock and increment due to its rapid growth, being recommended for carbon capture in young restoration areas, whereas Cariniana legalis presented the lowest values. The results contribute to future restoration actions, particularly those focused on carbon sequestration.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Mercantilização do autismo e precarização do trabalho: relatos de terapeutas em uma mídia social digital(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Sanches, Sabrina Angélica Silvestrini; Fernandes, Amanda Dourado Souza Akahosi; lattes.cnpq.br/7901666626822625; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8006-8117; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5379148858490894; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-3847-9013; Cid, Maria Fernanda Barboza; Souza, Marina Batista Chaves Azevedo de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8595043315867424; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9996143368990581; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-0199-0670; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0704-0534The historical transformations of capitalism, culminating in the neoliberal model, extend beyond the economic sphere and involve structural changes that directly shape work organization, management practices, and the commodification of several areas of health care. In the field of autism, this process has fostered the emergence of a lucrative market of products, services, and treatments, frequently subordinating care to logics of efficiency, control, and profit maximization. Such dynamics affect not only therapeutic approaches but also the ways in which work processes are structured, teams are managed, and care is organized in everyday practice. Within this context, the precarization of work expresses the effects of neoliberal rationality, which redefines values, practices, and expectations, reverberating simultaneously across the objective, subjective, and ethical dimensions of therapeutic work. Examining this scenario makes it possible to understand how these dynamics permeate daily labor, revealing both the materiality of precarization and its symbolic, affective, and ethical impacts on workers. By exposing contemporary forms of labor exploitation and their subjective effects, this study contributes to the debate on precarization in the health sector, drawing on critical perspectives on neoliberal rationality, commodification, and labor. It also aligns with analyses that interrogate the advancement of the commodification of health and the configuration of the Autism Industrial Complex, understood as processes that reconfigure services, practices, and labor relations. This study aimed to understand and analyze the work processes and conditions in clinics specialized in the care of autistic children, drawing on critical frameworks on healthcare commodification and the Autism Industrial Complex. Designed as an exploratory, documentary study with a quali-quantitative approach, the corpus consisted of 540 anonymous reports posted by therapists on Instagram between March and October 2024. Data analysis was conducted through thematic content analysis. From this process emerged Category A and its five subcategories, which address the technical and productive organization of work processes and constitute the core structure of precarization identified in the narratives. This analytic focus aligns with the study’s objective of examining how work organization, routines, demands, and operational structures directly impact both care and therapists’ work experiences. The subcategories discussed include: A1 – Neglect of basic working conditions and work overload; A2 – Inadequate infrastructure; A3 – Administrative disorganization and lack of technical support; A4 – Contractual exploitation and violation of labor rights; and A5 – Remuneration. The results revealed a concerning panorama of precarized labor relations, marked by physical overload, inadequate infrastructure, informal and unstable contractual arrangements, and fragile administrative processes. These findings demonstrate that the expansion of the commodification of care, coupled with contemporary management models guided by neoliberal efficiency, has deteriorated the working conditions of therapists who provide care to autistic children. Precarization manifests in both objective dimensions—such as workload, pay, and infrastructure—and subjective, ethical, and affective dimensions that shape daily care practices, often eroding therapeutic relationships and rendering workers’ suffering invisible. At the same time, forms of resistance emerge, reclaiming the ethical–political meaning of work, the value of collective action, and the importance of spaces for dialogue as means of confronting and elaborating suffering. This study contributes to debates on the effects of health commodification in the field of autism by highlighting psychosocial impacts on professionals and problematizing the modes of care production under neoliberal capitalism. It underscores the urgency of rethinking public policies and care models that prioritize service quality, workforce valorization, and the centrality of care as an ethical, collective, and human practice.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação de impacto orçamentário na saúde com a política de taxação de bebidas adoçadas e o desfecho sobre o diabetes tipo 2(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Okuda, Ricardo Augusto Kazuo; Itria, Alexander; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7278290457268315; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7500-0230; Silva, Gustavo Pereira da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2439816100723730; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2563-7801; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0438047887605422; https://orcid.org/0009-0009-2025-3199; Angeli, Eduardo; Picoli, Renato Mantelli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6718615421764291; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9201695869717291; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6676-9267; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8154-6467The incidence and prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), as well as the economic impact of treating this disease, have prompted discussions on which measures could be adopted to reduce the number of cases. Among the various proposals is the implementation of an additional tax—considering the already complex existing tax structure—particularly on sugar-sweetened beverages (with the aim of reducing their consumption). The existing literature on the topic indicates a strong correlation between the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and the increased occurrence of the disease. Thus, the objective of this study was to estimate the public financial impact of taxing sugar-sweetened beverages and the resulting reduction in T2DM cases. To this end, we employed a health economic evaluation tool—Budget Impact Analysis—to estimate the public financial impact of adopting such a tax, taking into account price elasticity and cross-elasticity, as well as the reduction in T2DM incidence/prevalence indicators and their associated costs. The study adopted two methodological approaches: a cross-sectional descriptive study and an Economic Evaluation study using budget impact analysis. Data were drawn from three national surveys: the Household Budget Survey (POF), the National Health Survey (PNS), and the Surveillance System for Risk and Protective Factors for Chronic Diseases via Telephone Survey (Vigitel). Using the collected data, a Budget Impact Analysis model was developed to estimate reductions in mortality and morbidity indicators, always adopting the perspective of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). The current taxation scenario was compared with alternative scenarios, enabling comparison of results across three tax rates—20%, 25%, and 30%—following trends observed in other countries. The findings were highly promising, indicating that such taxation could reduce the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages as well as government expenditures on T2DM treatment. Contribuições sociais e ambientais - Propõe medidas mitigadoras (barreiras acústicas, treinamento de condutores), promovendo sossego público e qualidade ambiental urbana.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação de impacto orçamentário na saúde com a política de taxação de bebidas adoçadas e o desfecho sobre o diabetes tipo 2(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-12-01) Okuda, Ricardo Augusto Kazuo; Itria, Alexander; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7278290457268315; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7500-0230; Silva, Gustavo Pereira da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2439816100723730; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2563-7801; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0438047887605422; https://orcid.org/0009-0009-2025-3199; Angeli, Eduardo; Picoli, Renato Mantelli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9201695869717291; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6718615421764291; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6676-9267; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8154-6467The incidence and prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), as well as the economic impact of treating this disease, have prompted discussions on which measures could be adopted to reduce the number of cases. The research, of a qualitative nature, is based on a bibliographic and documentary review, with the objective of analyzing the stages that make up the settlement policy, as well as the challenges faced by the beneficiary families from the initial occupation to the titling of the lot. The investigation shows that the Brazilian land structure remains marked by the historical concentration of land, and that the consolidation of settlements depends on complex procedures, such as georeferencing, cadastral updating and compliance with the normative requirements of the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA). The results indicate that the titling represents a fundamental milestone for the guarantee of legal certainty, for the strengthening of family farming and for access to public policies essential to rural development. In addition, it is highlighted that the path to the definitive title is permeated by administrative obstacles, structural limitations and historical inequalities, which reaffirms the need for continuous improvement of public policies for Agrarian Reform in the country.
