Requisitos gerais para a produção de materiais de referência

Abstract

The present work had as objective to raise the main requirements for the production of Reference Materials. These requirements can be classified into Structural, defined by ABNT NBR ISO 17034, in Instrumental, defined by ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025 and Production, representing the stages in which the material property values are determined and tested, being guided by ISO Guides 31, 33, 34 and 35. From the various studies involved, such as homogeneity, stability and chemical characterization, it will be possible to estimate the degree of residual heterogeneity and check whether the material has sufficient stability for the intended use, considering the contribution of each study in the final expanded uncertainty. Understanding that many decisions made in different productive sectors are based on analytical results, and the reliability of these results is based on the comparison with metrologically valid standards, it is perceived the importance of expanding the knowledge regarding the production of these materials, satisfying the research and the international trade simultaneously.
