Uma educadora transformadora Rosangela da Silva Alves (1963-2017): percursos para uma educação antirracista na cidade de Sorocaba

Abstract

Bearing in mind that racism is still present in all areas of our society, this work seeks to bring reflections on how Rosangela da Silva Alves' legacy brings great lessons for the development of an anti-racist education. To carry out this research, I sought information in bibliographic and documentary sources about Rosangela's trajectory, focusing on the "Quilombinho Cultural Project", founded by her, and in my own memories about how she transformed my life and influenced my process of understanding as a woman. black. Throughout the research, I found that Rosangela has always worked with processes of transformation and reflection on people's blackness and ancestry, through educational processes through which black people were able to know their history from another perspective, other than that of the colonizer. We can learn a lot from her story to develop our own practices as educators.
