Resumo

The purpose of this study is to analyze through the perception of teachers of Hospital Classes, how their pedagogical practices interfere in the social representation of hospitalized students about the hospital, to understand the impact of teaching activities in this representation. In addition, we sought to identify which pedagogical practices these professionals develop to reconstruct the social representation, when negative. Therefore, it is a qualitative descriptive research, which used the methodological resource of semi-structured interview for data collection. Therefore, 10 teachers from Hospital Classes participated in this study. For this, they were recruited through a questionnaire in a WhatsApp group entitled: “Hospital Classes of Brazil”. The results found were submitted to Bardin’s categories and subcategories. Finally, it was found that the participants recognize that they are fundamental representations for the reconstruction of the hospital’s negative image. Therefore, most of them elaborate pedagogical practices with this perspective, using toys for make-believe games, digital resources and kits with guidelines and vocabulary about illnesses and hospital procedures.
