Percepções sobre a soberania e segurança alimentar em famílias do assentamento Santa Helena

Abstract

The project was created based on the publication of the II National Survey on Food and Nu‐ tritional Security in the Context of the COVID-19 Pandemic, published by the Brazilian Re‐ search Network on Sovereignty and Food Security. Given the published, attention was drawn to the number of people experiencing food insecurity and, specifically, in the countryside. That’s why was defined as empirical field the PDS Santa Helena, because it’s relevance in discussions of food security and sovereignty and partnership whit Solidarity Economy ac‐ tors. Were interviewed 10 farmers and 4 technicians, the social and economic demands of farmers were verified, as well their eating habits, labor conditions and how the Settlement's infrastructure helped or hindered the potential of the lots. Finally, a critical analysis of the so‐ cial vulnerabilities observed in the Santa Helena PDS was carried out and some limitations of the research were discussed.
