Abstract

Soilless cultivation in protected environments allows agricultural production in reduced areas, using organic and inert substrates, as well as high-frequency fertigation. Biquinho peppers (Capsicum chinense), widely consumed as condiments, show satisfactory results in this system. However, inadequate management can lead to emitter clogging, substrate salinization, and leaching. The use of enhanced efficiency fertilizers (EEF) emerges as a viable option to mitigate these problems. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of enhanced efficiency fertilizers compared to fertigation in soilless protected cultivation of biquinho pepper. The treatments included: Fertigation (FERT); Application of polymers with total addition at transplanting (PAT); Application of polymers with split addition (PAD), with 50% at transplanting and 50% after 45 days of transplanting. The experimental design was a randomized block design with 3 treatments and 12 repetitions, totaling 36 experimental plots. The release
