Raízes das instituições políticas brasileiras: indivíduo e estado brasileiro no pensamento político de Sérgio Buarque de Holanda e Oliveira Vianna
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to find and compare in the works of Sérgio Buarque de Holanda (1936) and Oliveira Vianna (1949) the reasoning which tries to demonstrate that the essential ideological uniqueness of the Brazilian individual has been able to create a certain ethos that would eventually consolidate itself in the structuration of a state that holds a specific set of characteristics. In other words, we try to determine which arguments were used by the authors in order to demonstrate that the state is a product of sociabilities, and these, products of specific individuals.
