“Bod mod e bod med”: uma reflexão sobre como xs agentes da body modification entendem as tentativas de criminalização de suas práticas
Resumen
This research sought to understand how the agents of body modification practices understand the attempts to criminalize them. Starting from the observation that bodies pass through processes of normalization both by biomedical and legal discourse, I have highlighted the perception of modifiers and modified with the proposal of a sociology of the modified body. Therefore, empirical research was conducted focusing on the events of corporal suspension and interviews with modification professionals and their adepts. It was concluded that the normalizing processes delimit, besides the aspect of holding a knowledge, the existences and corporal esthetics to be produced.
