Resumo

The participation of the majors in Brazilian film production, stimulated through mechanisms of tax deduction, such as MP 2.228-1/2001, generated important changes in the sector. This research aims to analyze, through a case study on the production and commercialization of the feature Dois filhos de Francisco, by Breno Silveira (2005), the influence of the major cinema Columbia Pictures (Sony) and its articulations with Globo Filmes, Conspiração Filmes and the State. Thus, the objective is to verify the increasingly intensity and concentrated performance of majors in Brazilian film production. To this end, bibliographic research, as well as documentation about the film and its release on the market was collected. In the context of the Brazilian cinema of the first decade of the 21st century, changes were observed, and involve not only the production, but also the distribution and screening of national films made in partnership with the majors, in an increasingly globalized context.
