O profissional de saúde e o luto: reflexões a partir da trajetória acadêmica no curso de medicina
Abstract
Death is considered a defeat or failure for many health professionals, particularly, for the doctor, and not as a natural fact arising from the history of every individual. Consequently, the relentless search for the maintenance of life ends up triggering stress and anguish, which can affect the professional's performance and a better understanding of how this event affects him. The purpose of this course conclusion paper is to relate aspects of the formative trajectory, through narratives and based on scientific literature, aiming at a better understanding of the emotional conditions of health professionals in grief and the preparation in academic training to face such questions. Thus, I sought to carry out a brief bibliographic review on the grieving processes related to health professionals, narrative personal about my experiences about this, and conclude by bringing the learnings, gaps and recommendations seen through reflections built. Through this work, it was possible to contribute to the reflection of the theme and academic trajectories that hardly allow a sufficient approach to deal with issues such as the elaboration of mourning by students and professionals, thus preventing emotional exhaustion, feelings of anguish and frustration, so frequent in our midst.
