Abstract
The present work is based on an internship experience carried out for two years in a city in the interior of São Paulo, with the objective of discussing the insertion of the figure of the school psychologist in basic education institutions. A survey of the national history of the practice of School Psychology was carried out, as well as the challenges of the insertion of Critical Psychology in the school institution. From this, an experience report is drawn, which seeks to elaborate my experience and place it in the scientific context. There is a non-place in relation to the institution located mainly in three phenomena: the conflict between the practice of critical school psychology with the expectations of education professionals, the non-identification with the traditional practices of psychology and the lack of relationship with peers acting in the same context.
