Abstract

Athlete performance analysis has become increasingly relevant for In different sports, handball is no different. To perform data classification cluster analysis is a great option. Will be used in this work, some grouping techniques, such as hierarchical methods and non-hierarchical methods, with the objective of grouping and analyzing the performance of youth handball players who participated in the world championship. Among the aforementioned methods, the Ward method and the K-means algorithm obtained very similar results and consistent with the our objective, when we use the first five dimensions obtained by the analysis of main components. Finally, the four groups obtained were characterized by observing these first five main components.
