Abstract
This Course Conclusion Work aims to build relationships between the work with mathematical modeling according to the concepts of Bassanezi (2002) and Burak (1992), and the learning objectives proposed by the High School's BNCC through Competences and Abilities, showing how the practice with modeling can contribute to the fulfillment of these objectives and to the formation of critical people, capable of fully exercising their citizenship. It also illustrates, through the analysis of an experience report, how modeling was able to mediate the learning of Skills highlighted by BNCC and give meaning to abstract mathematical concepts, promoting connections with previous knowledge brought by the students.
