Fatores associados ao consumo alimentar excessivo de frituras em município da Amazônia ocidental brasileira

O padrão alimentar de uma população exerce grande influência nos parâmetros de saúde que ela apresenta
e o consumo excessivo de gorduras tem se mostrado como um fator de risco para o desenvolvimento
diversas patologias. Este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar o consumo de frituras no município de Mâncio
Lima, no Acre, e seus fatores associados. Foram entrevistadas 820 pessoas maiores de 18 anos da área
urbana de Mâncio Lima entre janeiro e fevereiro de 2012. Os resultados mostraram que a prevalência do
consumo de frituras até 4x na semana foi de 68,7% e a de 5x ou mais foi de 31,3%. O consumo excessivo
de frituras teve associação com idade (p < 0,001) e com consumo de doces (p < 0,001). O hábito de fumar
apresentou associação com maior consumo de frituras (p=0,02), morar em domicílios sem calçada, com
calçada de terra, de grama ou de tijolos também (p=0,024). A raça do chefe de domicílio apresentou
associação com o consumo de frituras, os indígenas consumiram menos (p = 0,019). O consumo
excessivo de frituras está acima dos limites tolerados para uma vida saudável e pode ser um dos
responsáveis pelas altas taxas de sobrepeso e obesidade encontradas no Acre
