Abstract
This is a bibliographic review about the Social Determinants of Health. We aim to focus
on racial biases in medical practice and research in Evidence-Based Medicine, as well
as a historical review of the Asian people in Western countries and the implications on
public health and on the health of these individuals. The goal of this study is to create
a theoretical basis for a critical-reflective memorial about the effects of racial opression
in asian’s processes on disease development, focusing on East Asian immigrants and
descendants.
