Abstract
This is a critical-reflexive exercise about the process of medical education based on
competencies, dialoguing with narrative review about the evolution of medical
education in Brazil, under the view of a sixth-year medical student at the Federal
University of São Carlos (UFSCar). It proposes parallels between the student
experience and the competencies listed in the Political Pedagogical Project of the
course, seeking to highlight the process of acquiring these competencies in practice.
