Abstract
The present research aimed to show and discuss two materials, one that addresses Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and the other about socio-emotional education, in order to understand how these two aspects help the violence prevention in schools. So, the research is characterized as a qualitative documentary research, based on five main authors. Through two studies, it was possible to identify that the practices of NVC and emotional education make it possible to promote a non-violent education, which, using daily socio-emotional skills in educational institutions, allows the reduction and prevention of violence in school settings, physical, verbal or psychological. It was concluded that, before teaching, the teacher should practice the emotional and NVC skills, so that they can help the student in their healthy development process, promoting non-violence.
