Resumo

In the field of large-scale assessment in the Portuguese language, the National High School Exam (ENEM) is a nationally recognized exam that evaluates students’ performance at the end of basic education. Unlike other Portuguese language exams, the National Exam of Portugal (ENP) is a final exam that provides schools with detailed information about students’ performance and regulates admission to higher education in that country. In contrast to the ENEM, the ENP consists of four different types of Mathematics exams. In this context, this Final Coursework (i) studied and delved into the detailed structure of Portugal’s Mathematics exams, (ii) classified the content of ENEM and ENP exams through the analysis of 272 Mathematics items, relating them to the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Results show that approximately 52.7% of ENP items address content present in the Brazilian school mathematics curriculum, and the exam that most closely aligns with the ENEM, in terms of content, is the Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences exam.
