listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Sistemas de associação entre plantas, fungos e abelhas para a percepção da biodiversidade no ensino de biologia(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Pinto, Guilherme do Amaral Reis; Nocelli, Roberta Cornélio Ferreira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8934724759636382; Montagnolli, Renato Nallin; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7455124733755299; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9208157911103313The lack of awareness regarding certain groups, such as plants, represents a significant challenge in Biology education. This issue is underscored by pedagogical approaches that are overly focused on content-based activities, often leading to decontextualized or inadequate presentations that fail to effectively showcase their diversity in a broader scope. The perception of species and their unique attributes is intricately linked to cognitive and cultural processes, influencing interest in studying and implementing conservation policies for these organisms. Given the close association of fungi and bees with plants, their portrayal in educational materials can significantly impact botanical and biodiversity awareness. Through documentary research and discursive textual analysis, this investigation revealed that plants, fungi, bees, and their ecological association systems are underrepresented in the Currículo em Ação textbooks, which are part of the Currículo Paulista pedagogic materials. Activities within these materials often employ limited approaches, exhibit conceptual errors, and rely on obsolete biological models. Despite these shortcomings, we identified certain activities with the potential for integrated, meaningful, problematizing, and interdisciplinary teaching. These activities involve the incorporation of traditional and indigenous knowledge about plants, fungi, and bees. However, realizing this potential necessitates a comprehensive restructuring of the Novo Ensino Médio education system and the associated curricular materials.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Acupuntura tradicional e acupuntura a laser na dor cervical crônica não específica: ensaio clínico randomizado, controlado(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Peron, Rafaela; Liebano, Richard Eloin; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1397951221512127; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4795-6723; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9430355799330389; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8941-2885Non-specific neck pain is a multifactorial and highly prevalent condition in adults. Traditional Acupuncture (TA) and Laser Acupuncture (LA) can be treatment options for individuals with this condition. However, no studies were found in the literature that compared the effectiveness of AT and AL in chronic non-specific neck pain. Objective: To examine the immediate effect of AT and AL therapies in individuals with chronic nonspecific neck pain, observing which one is more efficient for this condition. Study design: Randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT). double blind. Participants: 84 individuals (men and women), aged between 18 and 60 years, complaining of chronic neck pain (pain present for a minimum period of 3 months). Interventions: Participants were randomly divided into 3 groups: TA (who received needle acupuncture treatment), LA (who received laser acupuncture treatment), and S-LA (who received sham laser acupuncture). The acupuncture points used (Tianzhu, Fengchi, Jianjing and Jianzhongshu) were stimulated bilaterally. Outcomes: Primary outcome: intensity of neck pain at rest and during movement, assessed by the Numerical Pain Scale, immediately after the end of AT and AL therapies. Secondary outcomes: Pressure Pain Threshold; Pain Temporal Summation Test; Conditioned Pain Modulation Consumption of analgesic medications; and Perception of the Global Effect. Verifying the results and effectiveness of both therapies, separately and by comparing groups. Results: 84 participants were randomized and none withdrew from the study. The TA and LA groups were significantly and equally superior in reducing the intensity of immediate pain at rest and in movement when compared to S-LA. Conclusions: Traditional Acupuncture and Laser Acupuncture were equally efficient in reducing the intensity of pain in patients with chronic non-specific neck pain. Keywords: Chronic non-specific neck pain; Traditional Acupuncture; Laser Acupuncture; Randomized controlled trial.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise exploratória da disparidade socioeconômica entre São Paulo e Bahia: uma avaliação para 2021 e 2022(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Campos, Luana Pires de; Carrara, Aniela Fagundes; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2348376949393246; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3131-2344The present study aimed to analyze the distinct behavior of economies and certain variables representing the development of the states of São Paulo and Bahia in the years 2021 and 2022. This objective was achieved through a bibliographic analysis that provided a historical overview of the Northeast and Southeast regions of Brazil. In addition to this, two other methodological tools were employed. Firstly, a descriptive analysis of economic and development indicators for the specified states in the years 2021 and 2022 was conducted. Subsequently, an exploratory spatial study was implemented for the variables of GDP per capita, access to treatment, water and sewage collection, and infant mortality incidence by municipality for the two states focused on in the study. The main findings indicate significant disparities in the observed variables between the two analyzed states. However, within each state, inequalities are also apparent, primarily associated with spatial considerations.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A história clínica do estudante de medicina da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Pedroso, Gustavo Alves; Prado, Juliana de Almeida; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4121249111372518; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4748-8165; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3823905708297711; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-0285-1493This work aims to reflect on my development as a physician and individual during my undergraduate studies in Medicine. Black man, belonging to the broad layer of newly assimilated Angolans, Nito Alves joined the anti-colonial struggles of the Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA) in 1966, he participated in the guerrillas in the 1st Military Political Region, an area of great military complexity, which contributed to reverberating the achievements of its members, including Nito, and elevated them as heroes, while many of the MPLA leaders were in exile. He became close to Agostinho Neto, then president of the movement. After Angola's independence in 1975, Nito held the position of Minister of Internal Administration. As the new government was constituted in the light of old and new controversies, arising mainly from colonialism, the context of the Cold War and the civil war initiated against UNITA, wich were supported by the USA, the MPLA suffered with many internal disputes over different political projects of nation: on the one hand, Nito and a network of allies from poorer classes and/or Marxists, the nitistas; on the other, a wing of the MPLA represented by members of the former Angolan elite. Accused of fractionalism and expelled from the party on May 21, 1977, Nito was accused of being responsible for an alleged attempted coup d'état that broke out soon after, on May 27 of the same year. The coup was followed by a purge of divergent thoughts within the MPLA, besides of violent social repression, with silencing and censorship imposed by the State. There is an estimated number of deaths between 8 and 30 thousand, in addition to the rise of the pragmatist wing of the party as the legitimate leaders of the country. Thus, I ethnograph the production of categories in the discursive disputes of the period, especially accusations, paying particular attention to the asymmetries of power relations. I seek to understand how these statements were able to elevate Nito to the antagonistic positions of hero and enemy and I analyze how such processes were articulated by each party to construct narratives (official and counter-official) in post-independent Angola, which still reverberate today. By way of conclusion, I reflect on the making and remaking of history in Angola and the disputes over memories, silences and forgetfulness, thinking about the effects of the past on the present and pointing out that the developments of the 27th of May mark the iteration of the dispute started before 1977. I argue that in its iteration, the disputes are updated, no longer around the ideological conceptions and political disputes that marked the context in which the 27th of May took place, but the (re)construction of the memory of the victims and of the positions they currently occupy in the Angolan context.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Literatura de autoria feminina em vestibulares: um estudo feito sob perspectiva feminista e interdisciplinar das leituras obrigatórias para USP e UNICAMP(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Petrili, Luciana Loren Ribeiro; Lahni, Cláudia Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4308409538114864; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6503-7179; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0741699427766516; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3655-0624This Dissertation was written from a feminist and an interdisciplinary perspective, with the aim of reflecting on the presence or the invisibility of women as producers of Brazilian fictional literature validated by the academy. The feminist perspective intends to include demands from different feminisms, since the visibility of literature produced by women results from the struggles of women with different characteristics. Interdisciplinarity is presented through the analysis of our object of study from the following areas: Editorial Production, Education, Communication, Literature and Gender Relations (the latter greatly exemplified by the context of women's lives in Brazilian society). The methodological procedure used to investigate and write the Dissertation consists of document and bibliographic research in books, articles, websites and other official documents that can elucidate the status of women as a social minority. The research also aims to investigate the presence of women in Brazilian fictional editorial production, as well as in different literary awards using websites of publishers and associations that represent them. Finally, we will analyze lists of books recommended, between 2015 and 2026, as mandatory reading for taking two of the biggest entrance exams in Brazil (Fuvest/USP and Comvest/UNICAMP). These exams are very competitive since they are important gateways to two of the largest and most highly public Universities in the State of São Paulo and in Brazil. The final results of this research indicate that, although women make up more than half of the Brazilian population, their work in literature still does not represent the same portion of the population. It is also evident that female writing is still not properly recognized, especially when considering the mandatory reading recommended by the academy, represented here by the recommendations of the USP and the UNICAMP entrance exams.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Exame Nacional de Portugal: uma análise das provas de Matemática(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Gomes, Giovanna Carolina; Piton-Gonçalves, Jean; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6280496667549925; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7392-2001; https://orcid.org/0009-0001-0189-6860In the field of large-scale assessment in the Portuguese language, the National High School Exam (ENEM) is a nationally recognized exam that evaluates students’ performance at the end of basic education. Unlike other Portuguese language exams, the National Exam of Portugal (ENP) is a final exam that provides schools with detailed information about students’ performance and regulates admission to higher education in that country. In contrast to the ENEM, the ENP consists of four different types of Mathematics exams. In this context, this Final Coursework (i) studied and delved into the detailed structure of Portugal’s Mathematics exams, (ii) classified the content of ENEM and ENP exams through the analysis of 272 Mathematics items, relating them to the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Results show that approximately 52.7% of ENP items address content present in the Brazilian school mathematics curriculum, and the exam that most closely aligns with the ENEM, in terms of content, is the Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences exam.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Crítica ao epistemicídio e ao colonialismo na obra Anti-bandeirante de Maré de Matos: desdobramentos semióticos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Cruz, Sabrynna Gabryella Xavier Gomes da; Barros, Mariana Luz Pessoa de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4830505244404566The course conclusion work sought to analyze the photographs entitled História (History), Selvagem (Wild) and Tradição (Tradition), which make up the set called Anti-bandeirante. These works were created by Brazilian visual artist and writer Maré de Matos, dated 2019, and the analysis is based on discursive semiotic theory. The objective was to critically approach the representations of these works in relation to epistemicide and coloniality, integrated into the Brazilian sociocultural context. When conducting the analysis, we explored the generative path of meaning at its fundamental, narrative and discursive levels, in addition to investigating the plane of expression present in these works. The results obtained indicated that discourse is not intrinsically "natural" or an absolute reflection of facts, but, on the contrary, a construction. This construction, in the context of a society shaped by coloniality, triggers various forms of oppression, with structural racism being a tangible manifestation of this phenomenon.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Melhorando a qos de streamig de vídeo adaptativo através de um loop de controle inteligente em redes programáveis(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Almeida, Leandro Cavalcanti de; Pasquini, Rafael; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6428800770934048; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8781-3914; Verdi, Fábio Luciano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9143186843657940; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5455-8910; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9455233418767749; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4342-3030Video traffic constitutes a significant portion of Internet traffic, directly impacting the Quality of Service (QoS) for several applications sharing the network. Emerging on-demand video streaming technologies, like Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), enable a degree of adaptability in video playback to match the quality levels provided by video service providers. However, from the perspective of network providers, monitoring and managing such applications pose considerable challenges due to their client-driven nature. In this work, we address these challenges and present solutions founded on two key pillars: i) contemporary programmable networks; and ii) artificial intelligence. We propose a solution that encompasses the Monitor-Analyze-Plan-Execute (MAPE) cycle, where monitoring and management mechanisms collaborate to enhance the QoS of DASH video streaming. In this work, we create a Smart Closed Loop, leveraging the capabilities of the Programmable Data Planes (PDP) and utilizing fine-grained measurements provided by In-band Network Telemetry (INT) to guide Machine Learning (ML) decisions. We designed and implemented a more precise method for estimating adaptive video service metrics, characterizing significant progress in the field of DASH service monitoring (M). Analyzing these estimates (A), the Smart Closed Loop can plan (P) execution (E) strategies within the network infrastructure that aim to deliver the video in better conditions. In this work, the preferred execution strategy is a probabilistic packet discard policy, due to DASH utilizing TCP as a congestion control approach. In this context, we revisited a well-known Active Queue Management (AQM) mechanism based on the RED algorithm, and inspired by it we developed our solution: ingress Random Early Detection (iRED). iRED is a disaggregated P4-AQM fully implemented in programmable data plane hardware (Tofino switches) that saves router resources. This algorithm not only conserves router resources but also aligns with the Low Latency, Low Loss, and Scalable throughput (L4S) framework. Considering the dynamic nature of video traffic, we design and implement a mechanism based on Deep Reinforcement Learning to fine-tune iRED parameters in real-time named Dynamic, Enhanced and Smart iRED (DESiRED). With DESiRED, we leverage the benefits attained in enhancing the quality of the DASH video service, making our solution adaptive to the dynamics of network traffic.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Controle de impurezas em insumos farmacêuticos ativos: Nitrosaminas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Seo, Letícia Satiko; Silva, Luis Felipe da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4490840276825382; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4348-8688; Souza, Dulce Helena Ferreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3428955299526003; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8479-6744; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0724852671316064; https://orcid.org/0009-0004-1441-5079The control of impurities in active pharmaceutical ingredients, particularly in the class of N-nitrosamines, is a highly relevant topic in the contemporary pharmaceutical industry as they belong to the "Cohort of Concern," classified by the ICH M7 (R1) guideline. The emphasis on the control of N-nitrosamines lies in their mutagenic properties and, according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the potentially carcinogenic and genotoxic influences under conditions of prolonged high exposure. The growing awareness of these impurities has prompted a continual review and enhancement of pharmacovigilance regulatory standards. In this context, the intention is to provide a comprehensive review of the impacts of N-nitrosamines on the pharmaceutical industries, including the measures and actions taken by regulatory agencies worldwide. Thus, the main objectives of this Thesis will be to provide information on studies related to the origin and presence of N-nitrosamines in medications. Additionally, it aims to present an overview of the evolution of the regulatory model in impurity control, highlighting factors that led to the current model. The goal is also to explore and discuss acceptable limits of exposure to impurities, as well as analytical methods.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Narrativas de professoras iniciantes: elementos que constituem a identidade docente(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Silva, Rachelle Crislaine da; Souza, Ana Paula Gestoso de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2662760426985944This Course Completion Work (TCC), linked to the degree course in Pedagogy at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), whose focus lies on investigating teachers' narratives about the beginning of their teaching career in the educational context, focusing on the construction of professional identity. The research aims to understand elements that constitute their identities throughout their professional trajectories, exploring the influences, challenges and significant moments that shape their self-image as educators. The methodology adopted involved collecting narratives from teachers, allowing qualitative analysis of shared experiences. Through content analysis, we identified recurring patterns, emerging themes and nuances in the participants' narratives. The results reveal the complexity of the construction of teaching identity, highlighting the interaction between personal experiences, institutional contexts and professional challenges. The influence of significant events, such as academic training, interpersonal relationships and moments of overcoming, emerge as fundamental elements in the formation of identity. By tracing these paths, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the processes involved in the construction of teaching identity, providing insights that can transform pedagogical practices and vision about teacher training. Reflecting on the teachers' narratives not only enriches academic understanding, but also promotes a more empathetic and realistic appreciation of the profession in the process of starting to teach.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Construção dos números reais: embasamento teórico e experiências na escola(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Rodrigues, Beatriz Andrade; Braun, Francisco; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5890727692959507; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3594-9809; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2192280071716077The presented research will focus on the construction of real numbers (R) through Dedekind cuts its use in education, with experiences in high school classes at a public school in São Carlos. Every spare part, from a single bolt to a door is individually packed, and that packaging must do more than simply wrap the product. The aim of this dissertation was to identify spare parts packaging attributes, and thereafter, determine key primary packaging attributes from the perspective of an automotive manufacturer in Brazil. This was done by reviewing the literature for packaging attributes, ranking the attributes with specialists, and surveying customers representatives using a Kano approach. Additionally interviews with the Packaging Development Specialist deepen the discussion on the results. This research recommends prioritizing and fulfilling all Must-be quality attributes in spare parts primary packaging: ‘Protection & preservation’, ‘Facilitates handling and distribution’, ‘Fits in storage spaces’, ‘Easy to recycle and dispose’, ‘Leakage proof’, and ‘Hygienic & safety’. Additionally, packing attributes should be competitive enough in two one-dimensional attributes ‘Stackable’ and ‘Low cost’. Lastly, that attractive category ‘Recycled material use’ and ‘Theft-prevention’ should be given importance in packaging to delight the customers. For the researched company spare parts primary packaging should prioritize protection, distribution efficiency and sustainability. These attributes, residing in the Technical and Function dimensions, serve as basic packaging needs for spare parts. By recommending the key attributes this research contributes to packaging development assertiveness and presents a technical product: a conclusive technical report for spare parts packaging.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Pheidole & Odontomachus (Hymenoptera: Formicidae): predadoras ou dispersoras de sementes?(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Pereira, Guilherme Andrade; Christianini, Alexander Vicente; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2295622727813765; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1538-791X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3926837826393333; https://orcid.org/0009-0002-3024-1326Despite being known as predators of arthropods, many species of ants use fruits and seeds as food, transporting them to their nests. Part of the seeds can be discarded in a midden near the entrance or inside the nest after the fruit pulp or the aril that covers the seed is consumed. Some of these seeds may still be viable and potentially germinate. Through this behavior, ants can disperse seeds of species without apparent adaptation to dispersal by ants and contribute to plant regeneration. We evaluated the capacity of seed removal by ants and the germination of seeds that interacted with Pheidole and Odontomachus, which are abundant ants in many Neotropical ecosystems and commonly interact with fruits/seeds. We investigated how seed attributes, such as size, shape and presence of a reward (pulp or aril), can influence the chance of seeds being removed. Artificial nests of these ants were kept in the lab, where seeds of different types and shapes were offered as food. It was possible to confirm the seed removal and dispersal capacity of both ants. However, Odontomachus performed better in this task, probably due to its size and foraging method. In general, seed germination was not altered by contact with ants in any case, implying that both ants are indeed seed dispersers. The exception was the interaction between Pheidole and Solanum viarum, in which the ant clearly behaves as a granivore rather than a seed disperser.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise da relação entre desenvolvimento e índice de qualidade do ar: uma análise municipal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Santos, João Vitor Acca dos; Bragagnolo, Cassiano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3604206454925741; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9177-3791Economic development is a phenomenon that, given certain circumstances, can be linked to the exploitation and degradation of the environment. Therefore, encouraging sustainable economic development is of great importance. In this sense, the best-known theory that relates economic development and environmental degradation is the Environmental Kuznets Curve (CAK). CAK is a theoretical concept that postulates a relationship between environmental degradation and the process of economic development through a curve in the shape of an inverted “U”. One of the main environmental impacts caused by development is atmospheric pollution, with the deterioration of air quality, causing environmental problems and health problems. In order to control air pollution and its risks, several countries establish air quality parameters, through which they are able to assess its condition and implement measures to maintain it. Thus, the study sought, through a panel data model, to identify the relationship between the air quality index and pollution during the period from 2015 to 2020 in 6 states in Brazil. This work aims to analyze air quality, measured by the air quality index using the annual pollutant concentration (PM10), for the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco and Minas Gerais and relating it to several variables that represent the level of economic development, such as GDP per capita, population and industrial GDP, will finally verify the possibility of finding a curve similar to CAK.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Centro de Divulgação Científica e Cultural (CDCC): mediação de visitas científicas monitoradas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Sartori, Paola Camargo; Hanai, Frederico Yuri; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7651828454575175; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8428-0019; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6813401750245914; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5450-8166The Guided Tours Program of CDCC/USP plays a crucial role in disseminating scientific knowledge, focusing on Environmental Education, aiming to foster the exchange of information and experiences. The research is structured into chapters that provide a gradual approach to the topic. The first chapter introduces a probability foundation, essential for understanding Markov Processes. The second chapter focuses on Markov Chains, fundamental to comprehending MDPs. Subsequent chapters delve into non-homogeneous aspects of Markov Processes, detailing temporal variations and variable rewards, enabling the modeling of diverse phenomena. The work includes theoretical and practical examples to illustrate concepts and explores topics such as absorbing states and stopping problems in MDPs, making theory application more accessible and enhancing reader comprehension.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Guia de identificação de plantas arbóreas do Parque Natural da Água Vermelha “João Câncio Pereira” em Sorocaba(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Caetano, Giovana Sgobbi; Araujo, Andréa Onofre; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3465415822786713; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6672388726732454The forest remnants occupy only 11.1% of the municipality of Sorocaba, due to the fragmentation of the natural environment, therefore, urban parks have become important refuges for plant biodiversity. These green areas improve the quality of life of the population, providing leisure, physical activities and contributing to nature conservation. The paper aims to discover the botanical diversity of the Água Vermelha “João Câncio Pereira” Natural Park in the city of Sorocaba (state of São Paulo) and express it in images and information through a guide with educational purposes that aims to promote the knowledge of tree species among people who visit the park, contributing to the local flora appreciation, overcoming botanical imperception and encouraging the preservation of the natural environments. The park's tree species were extensively surveyed, such as trees with trunks with a diameter at breast height (DBH) greater than 20 centimeters in the park's visitor areas, such as walking trails and flat soils. The collections were carried out from September to December 2023 and, at each collection, the branches were transported to the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) in Sorocaba, where they were pressed and dried in an oven with an approximate temperature of 60ºC. After drying, each specimen was identified to species level with the help of literature and botanical experts. In total, 56 tree plants from 22 species and 10 different families were sampled; 14 are characterized as native to Brazil, 5 as cultivated, 2 as naturalized, and one was able to identify only the gender. The Fabaceae family had the largest number of species (9); Mangifera indica (mango tree), Syzygium cumini (jambolão) and Peltophorum dubium (canafístula) had the highest number of specimens, 9, 8 and 7, respectively. The most common pollination syndrome was melitophilia; the most common seed dispersal syndrome was zoochory, mainly by small mammals. In addition to these data, the guide presents photos and information about the leaves, trunk, flowers and fruits of the species, their commercial uses and the conservation status of the species according to The International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List of Threatened Species. The guide also has an interactive aerial view map pointing out the 56 tree plants, in which the reader is directed to the page of the respective species; a glossary with botanical terms and symbols for better understanding by visitors.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A expansão do setor de HPPC brasileiro: uma abordagem sob a ótica das estratégias de crescimento adotadas pelo grupo Boticário na pandemia da Covid-19(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Santos, Maria Eduarda dos; Pitelli, Mariusa Momenti; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2810339285129049This study aims to analyze the growth strategies adopted by the Boticário Group between 2018 and 2022. The aim is to understand, through the case study, how the conduct adopted by the company in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic relates to the growth observed in its results, as well as possible impacts on the structure of the Brazilian Personal Hygiene, Perfumery and Cosmetics (PHPC) sector. It was observed that, during the period analyzed, the Boticário Group invested heavily in research and development (R&D) and in strategies aimed at its technological development, as well as in strategic mergers and acquisitions that enabled it to expand its consumer market - such as Vult Cosméstica, Beleza na Web, Truss Professional and Dr. Jones. In addition, during the pandemic, the company also considerably increased its product portfolio, with the creation, for example, of a sunscreen line and a new perfume brand, O.U.i, dedicated to the high-end perfumery market. From 2018 to 2022, the Boticário Group also inaugurated two new distribution centers and acquired logtech Equilibrium, intensifying its verticaisintegration process. As a result, the group was able to boost its sales and increase its turnover, increasing its relevance in the domestic PHPC market.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Ensino de leitura para alunos do 3º ano do ensino fundamental(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2024-02-08) Lourênço, Nádia Rafaela Vicente; Postalli, Lidia Maria Marson; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2748282330028870; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7560-697X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3200740545365408The ability to read not only promotes the intellectual development of the individual but also plays a fundamental role in social interaction. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effects of teaching relationships between dictated words, written words, and pictures on word reading acquisition through a computerized teaching procedure. Three students participated in the research (Luna, aged 8 years and 7 months, diagnosed with intellectual disability, and Luan and Lara, referred for evaluation, both aged 8 years and 8 months), residing in a city in the interior of São Paulo. A multiple-probe design was employed across word sets, with pre- and post-test evaluations of phonological awareness and word writing skills using a test comprising four words and one sentence. The participants were exposed to an individualized teaching program, conducting teaching sessions, emergent testing sessions, and picture naming assessments. The teaching procedure consisted of three word sets, each containing three teaching words and three generalization words (syllable transposition of the teaching words). Each stage taught three teaching words and assessed the reading of the taught words and generalization of the corresponding group plus words from other groups, totaling 18 words. The words consisted of consonant-vowel combinations. Overall, the results showed that all three participants formed equivalence classes with the three word groups after a few teaching sessions. Two of the three participants (Luna and Luan) maintained low reading performance, while Luna showed an increase in the number of words read correctly. Future studies should reconsider procedural variables (e.g., words, planning the teaching of smaller units such as syllables, reducing the number of attempts per session, and increasing the frequency of data collection days) to promote conditions conducive to generalized word reading.
