A experiência de mulheres mães brasileiras de jovens privados de liberdade: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

Abstract

The present study aimed to conduct a literature review on the experiences of women with children deprived of liberty. For this purpose, a review of national and international literature published between 2013 and 2024 was carried out. The selected abstracts were retrieved from the BIREME database. A total of 232 articles were found in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. After removing duplicates and applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 9 articles remained for analysis. The results indicated a stronger tendency to focus on adolescents’ experiences, with few studies addressing the maternal perspective. The findings also revealed the presence of different forms of violence in the life trajectories of both adolescents and their mothers, in addition to socioeconomic vulnerability. The importance of adopting a broader perspective to better understand maternal experiences in this context is discussed.
