O conceito de desejo na obra inaugural de Sigmund Freud

Abstract

This work seeks to explore the meaning of 'desire' in Sigmund Freud's inaugural writings, namely, the set of works written up to the publication of Die Traumdeutung ([1899]1900). To this end, a historical-conceptual analysis is conducted of the main texts in which this concept appears in a significant way. The analysis considers not only the internal relations it establishes within Freudian theory, but also the historical context in which these conceptual constructions take shape. It is concluded that 'desire' is a concept of major importance for the constitution of the logic of psychoanalytic practice; however, its meaning is not unequivocal. Rather, it emerges as a problematic notion that reflects the epistemic tensions within Freud's work. Keywords: desire; Wunsch; Freud; psychoanalysis.
