“Tecnologia como linguagem”: estruturação do pensamento por analogia no campo Ciência, Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS)

Abstract

The concept of technology is wide, unstable and a muldisciplinary issue. The literature of Social Sciences demonstrated this relevance, particularly in the field Science, Tecnology and Society - STS, for its conceptual significance in the interpretation of agents, products and processes involved. This perspective brings the implication between the social determination of technology (non neutral comprehension that the human narrative builds the world), against technological determinism (perspective of a society to be configured by the neutrality of techniques). This context is the base of the hipothesis that technology is an expression similar to human language, leading to critical deepening in both universes. The main objective was to structure the scientific debate about technology as language through a construtivist perspective. The specific objectives are to review the literature in social sciences, to define the corresponding analogs, and to apply this mechanism criticarly to relevant studies in the STS field. Methodology was based on the construtivist thinking with a hybrid approach. The analogs built were "identification", the possibility of "deductive interpretation", and the trends to "representation" in CTS. These analogs were converted into text filters for a research at Portal de Periódicos da CAPES through data mining, using the software Iramuteq. As a result, it is brought that discussions about technology is an oportunity for significant critics, when discussed as expressivity, similar to human language. The aproximation to these two universes of meaning had the contribution and tradition of STS. It is infered that this discussion can motivate future works on the research for other possibilities of structuration.
