Resumo
The theme of intersectionality has been an emerging discussion in recent years in the country, resulting in a growing number of publications about it in the academic context. Nonetheless, it still looks like there are a few studies focused on discussing the political and social uses of the expression, more specifically, in the relation between the deaf social movement and the trans social movement. Because of this fact, this paper is an exploratory study regarding this theme through bibliographic search, using the concept of intersectionality as an analytic resource, as an attempt of better understanding the meaning and the discourses to write an essay about the similarities and differences between both social movements that help the defense and claim of a dignity life for trans and deaf people. Based on the affirmation that social movements organized by minority groups regarding their specifics have similarities that offer concepts, theories and strategies capable of assisting on the struggles faced by social movements in general. This study is believed to add on the discussion of intersectionality already existing, contributing to both areas deaf studies and gender debates focused on transgenderism.
