Levantamento e análise sobre a avifauna do município de Araras (SP) a partir de plataformas de ciência cidadã

Abstract

This study presents a survey of the avifauna of the municipality of Araras (SP), based on records from the citizen science platforms iNaturalist and WikiAves, covering the period from 2015 to 2025. A total of 81 species were identified on iNaturalist and 343 on WikiAves, distributed across different conservation categories, with most classified as LC (Least Concern), and some as VU (Vulnerable) and CR (Critically Endangered). According to iNaturalist, the Ecological Park stood out as the location with the highest number of species, reinforcing the importance of green areas for breeding, shelter, and feeding of avifauna species. In summary, this study highlights the relevance of citizen science for scientific knowledge, proposes conservation actions, and emphasizes the need for green areas in the city for species protection, bringing society closer to science
