Detecção de radiação gama com iodeto de sódio dopado com tálio

Abstract

Thallium-doped sodium iodide (NaI:Tl) is widely used for gamma radiation detection due to its high scintillation efficiency and versatility. This work presents a detailed analysis of gamma radiation detection using NaI(Tl), combining comprehensive theoretical foundations with computational simulations based on the Monte Carlo method. Parameters such as peak-total ratio, energy resolution, and spectral response were investigated, considering different crystal dimensions. The results obtained showed agreement with the theoretical predictions discussed throughout the study, providing significant contributions to the understanding of this important detection technology.
