Resumo

The global energy context has undergone significant transformations in recent decades, driven by the search for cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. In this sense, electric vehicles have emerged as a promising alternative to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and mitigate the environmental impacts caused by greenhouse gas emissions. However, the efficiency and capacity of the batteries used in these vehicles are critical aspects for the viability of this technology. Brazil, with its wealth in natural resources, has considerable potential for the production of materials used in electric batteries. Among these materials, graphite, silicon and niobium stand out due to their unique properties and characteristics. Graphite is widely used as an anode in lithium-ion batteries, while silicon and niobium are studied as alternatives to increase energy storage capacity and improve battery performance. In short, the work presented a comprehensive analysis on the production of electric batteries with graphite, silicon and niobium anodes in Brazil, considering the context of mineral reserves and the political scenario of the country, as well as the performance of these materials in batteries. The results indicate a promising potential for the advancement of the electric mobility industry in Brazil, provided that adequate policies and investments in research and development are implemented.
