Um estudo semiótico de relatos sobre a interação entre profissionais da saúde e pacientes no SUS

Abstract

Interaction is an essential component of the communication process in society, it permeates all social relations in some way, and is, at the same time, a linguistic and discursive phenomenon. All the time we are creating and recreating our identities, proving and contesting ideological positions, establishing and transcending boundaries, fighting for places in society, and all this happens in and through language. The present work aimed to examine a specific type of interaction, the relationship between health professionals and SUS patients, as seen through accounts collected from interviews conducted with these subjects in a SUS Emergency Care Unit located in the countryside of the state of São Paulo. These reports were documented, the most relevant excerpts were transcribed and analyzed using semiotic theory and establishing dialogue with other lines of text and discourse studies, especially with Conversation Analysis and French Discourse Analysis. In these interviews, conducted with health professionals, such as doctors, nurses, dentists and health agents, and with patients, we could notice, above all, the construction of ethos as a language effect on the participants of the interaction and how this could be a good example of how the type of interaction can be defined by issues that go beyond the purely linguistic criterion, since the social roles assumed in this communication situation are taken into account, as well as socioeconomic and cultural issues revealed discursively.
