Resumo
This study aims to discuss aspects of the training demands of science teachers in the city of São Paulo de Olivença, AM. The proposal arose from the student's experiences in public schools in the city and during the undergraduate program in Biological Sciences. The research, of a qualitative and exploratory nature, aimed to identify the demands of teachers in the city, collected through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed based on the existing literature, discussing the training needs identified by the participants. The theoretical framework includes contributions on interculturality, as well as reflections on training needs. From the analysis, it was possible to identify a significant need for ongoing professional development, both in general and focused on the regional context, indicating that discussions related to interculturality and decolonizing education should be reinforced in teacher training programs.
