Resumo
This research aims to develop a proposal for tracking graduates from stricto sensu postgraduate programs at the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT). The study was conducted through a literature review, document analysis, website research, benchmarking, and interviews. A case study was carried out at UFMT, involving document analysis on the websites of the Ministry of Education (MEC), UFMT, and the four postgraduate programs selected for this research, as well as interviews with the coordinators of these programs. Additionally, benchmarking was conducted with four universities—USP, UnB, UFSC, and UFSCar—by analyzing information available on their websites and alumni portals. To complement this, interviews were conducted with individuals responsible for alumni management at USP and UFSCar. Graduate tracking has been gradually incorporated into Brazilian universities as a tool for institutional and program evaluation, but it remains a significant challenge. The research results highlighted the need to integrate various institutional bodies and stakeholders in alumni management. Based on these findings, a graduate tracking model was developed. The model suggests specific practices and identifies the key internal and external units that should be involved in alumni management.
