Resumo
Information Science faces challenges in promoting the visibility of queer literature on digital platforms, where generic terms are often adopted or limited to the literary genre. This study seeks to discuss the dimensions of reading and interpreting this literature, focusing on the social context of users and the visibility of these works in informational contexts. To this end, a qualitative, applied and exploratory approach was used, with a case study of Virginia Woolf's Orlando and James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room. The analysis of the results was based on a full reading of the works and content analysis, identifying recurring themes and assessing the suitability of the terms used on information platforms. As a contribution, new terms were proposed based on a specialized glossary of LGBTQIAP+ terms, seeking to increase the visibility and social contextualization of the works. It was concluded that the platforms analyzed still have significant gaps in assigning terms that effectively reflect the content and social relevance of these narratives.
