listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Explorando o papel dos aromas na percepção e aceitação de alimentos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Aguiar, Ana Beatriz Leister; Silva, Thaís Jordânia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4582114700719319The aroma is an essential element in the food industry, directly influencing the acceptance and consumption of food. Although often associated with smell, aroma is part of "flavor," an integrated perception that combines taste, odor, and texture. Its primary objective is to enhance or impart desirable sensory characteristics to a food product. Among the chemical senses, the sense of smell is the main determinant of flavor, which results from the activation of the chemical senses of taste and smell. Through the taste buds, non-volatile compounds—such as sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and umami—are perceived, while volatile compounds, detected by the olfactory tissue, generate a wide range of aromas. The industry uses aromas to restore characteristics lost during processing and to ensure the sensory uniformity of the final product. Aromas can be classified as natural, nature-identical, or artificial. This study aimed to understand the importance of aroma and its influence on food perception, as well as to explore the types of molecules found in nature or synthetically, concepts of sensory perception, olfactory neuroscience, and aroma chemistry through a bibliographic review using articles, books, and research on the topic. To detect differences in aromas, sensory analysis is a widely used science that plays a crucial role in product development by assessing characteristics perceived by the senses and ensuring the final quality of food. This and other techniques were discussed throughout the study, along with specifications of different aromas used in the food industry.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Redução de danos e gênero: a perspectiva de mulheres atendidas em um centro de atenção psicossocial alcool e drogas (CAPS AD)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Lazarini, Emily; Fioroni, Luciana Nogueira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8086810053892035; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2311-7848; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8109366032380500The use of psychoactive substances (PAS) is a phenomenon of interest throughout the development of the human species. From the 16th century onwards, the abusive use of these substances became a topic of interest, relating to social determinants of health (SDH), among them, the construct of gender. This research investigated women's representations of themselves while in a condition of abusive PAS use. This was a qualitative, interpretative and descriptive empirical research, belonging to the epistemological framework of critical and interpretative social psychology called hermeneutics-dialectics. The invited participants consisted of 7 women attended at a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs (CAPS AD III) in the city of São Carlos. The instrument for data production was a semi-structured interview guide, composed of 2 parts: a socioeconomic questionnaire; and a semi-structured part that guided the interview. The questions in the guide aimed to characterize the participants and investigate their history of substance use, the relationships between being a woman and being a substance user, and the history of treatment at the CAPS (Psychosocial Care Center). Data analysis was performed using Thematic Analysis, and the discussion of the results was based on the articulation of this data. This investigation can contribute to adding information about harm reduction and its relationship with gender and public policies, considering the few available studies that evaluate this relationship.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Representações sociais sobre o aborto em estudantes universitárias/os(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Santos, Laura dos; Fioroni, Luciana Nogueira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8086810053892035; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2311-7848; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9389676064839541The research was conducted in two public institutions in the state of São Paulo, combining descriptive (quantitative) and qualitative-interpretative approaches, organized in two stages. The first stage was a screening phase (110 participants) using a virtual questionnaire, analyzed descriptively, and the Questionnaire of Values and Beliefs about Sexuality, analyzed according to the instrument's own guidelines (Sereno, Leal & Maroco, 2009). The second stage consisted of a qualitative phase, involving semi-structured interviews and the Free Word Association Test (FWAT), conducted in person with three university students who answered affirmatively to the question “have you experienced abortion.” The theoretical framework guiding the discussion of the results was the Theory of Social Representations (Moscovici, 2015; Jodelet, 2001). The results from the first stage allowed for the construction of a general profile of the participants: women, 23 years old, white, fourth-year undergraduate health students at a federal university, agnostic or without religious affiliation. Most were from the Southeast region and interior of São Paulo state. With a family income ranging from R$5,000 to R$10,000, they belonged to middle-class families, with individual incomes between R$1 and R$2,000. These data are fundamental to understanding the results from the Questionnaire of Values and Beliefs about Sexuality, which indicated that this population does not believe motherhood is a woman’s main life project; they view female pleasure as highly significant; there is a tendency to consider the idea of reproduction as a primarily female function to be outdated. They were ambiguous about whether female sexuality should necessarily be linked to emotional life, and positioned themselves as moderate regarding negative representations of abortion, neither progressive nor conservative on this issue. Also in this stage, it was observed that for some participants, pregnancy and abortion are not necessarily connected; the experience is seen as psychosocial, separating one phenomenon from the other. It is also described as a deeply traumatic experience that leads women to seek strategies to overcome and re-signify this event in their lives. In the second stage of the study, in Analytical Category 01: Abortion Experience, we highlight the presence of an important ethno-social determinant that differentiates the participants and reinforces that those who do not access health services are the ones most at risk. Additionally, the hospital was problematized as a space of care for these women, and how the illegality of abortion contributes to the challenges faced. In Analytical Category 02: Determinants and Effects of Abortion, the abortion event was addressed as a potentially traumatic experience within each individual's life context. The experiences of two participants with feelings of terror related to the pregnancy were particularly notable. It is worth remembering that, in the first stage, they reported not feeling pregnant at any point prior to the abortion. This is important for recognizing that the phenomenon of pregnancy cannot be reduced to a purely biological event. Analytical Category 03: Abortion as a Gender Issue, reveals feelings of abandonment, guilt, and the emotional burden that women mobilize to face this traumatic event, closely linked to significant gender-related issues. Finally, Analytical Category 04: Beliefs and Values about Gender/Sexuality, emphasizes how two participants sought readings and studies as a way of coping with the abortion experience.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O turismo capixaba no Tik Tok: estudo da disseminação da informação turística(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Ribeiro, Heloysa Pereira; Zafalon, Zaira Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1584935790390793; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4467-2138; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1545879720903299Tourism is one of the most important economic sectors in Brazil, but it depends entirely on information. In a period where information can be accessed on a cell phone, the tourism sector has become present on digital platforms, mainly on social media, through travelers themselves. However, few Brazilian states stand out in this area, such as the state of Espírito Santo, which is located in the Southeast region of the country. Therefore, the problem that guided this research is based on understanding, in the context of the digital age, how the dissemination of tourist information in this state occurs on the social network Tik Tok. Tik Tok is a platform that prioritizes the consumption of content through videos, providing information in a fast and attractive way; due to the visually appealing nature of tourism, this presented itself as an appropriate platform for the selection of material. Therefore, the applied research, of a qualitative nature and exploratory objectives, used bibliographic and documentary research for the theoretical basis. The specific objectives are based on presenting the dissemination of information, tourism in Espírito Santo, tourist information and its relationships with social networks, specifically Tik Tok. Furthermore, the aim was to structure how the state's tourist information is disseminated on the platform, through the analysis of user profiles and engagement, and then, based on the analyses, identify ways to improve the distribution of tourist information. Thus, the analysis of categorical content and Ranganathan's fundamental categories were used to organize and analyze the data collected from two profiles on the social network Tik Tok, which focus on tourism promotion. It was identified that both profiles use resources made available by the platform, in addition to the published content, to disseminate tourist information about the state and that they have a favorable audience reach and engagement. However, it is concluded that the strategies used, even if they indicate satisfactory results, would present better results if used more effectively.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise de séries temporais com dados reais e desenvolvimento de modelos de previsão(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Furlan, Lucas Ferraz; Moura, Maria Sílvia de Assis; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9410151859448447; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0174994722129900This Undergraduate Thesis (TCC) addresses the development of time series forecasting models, specifically applied to five market variables: Tires, Steel Sheets, Rubber, Electric Energy in Brazil, and Polyethylene Packaging. The study employs a combination of exponential smoothing and ARIMA models, recognized for their robustness in analyzing temporal data with trends and seasonal patterns. The goal is to provide forecasts up to 18 months ahead, balancing medium- and long-term behavioral nuances of the series. The research focuses on optimizing forecasting parameters, aiming for a compromise between sensitivity to current market conditions and the incorporation of historical trends. The duality of methods allows addressing time series with different degrees of volatility and periodicity, providing a deeper understanding and broader applicability. The practical implications of this study are particularly relevant for strategic decision-making in the commercial and industrial sectors, given the critical role these products play in the economy.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise das ações da Magazine Luiza (Magalu) pré e pós aquisição da Kabum(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Octaviano, Ricardo Augusto; Moura, Maria Sílvia de Assis; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9410151859448447; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4710442558199016The present work proposes an analysis of Magazine Luiza’s stocks in the context of the acquisition of Kabum, seeking to understand the variations in closing prices before and after the transaction. The study will be based on the implementation of a GARCH or ARCH model, aiming to identify volatility patterns and assess whether there have been significant changes in price behavior characteristics. The choice of these models is justified by their ability to capture volatility in time series data, making them suitable for analyzing changes in variability over time. The results indicate that Magalu’s stock behavior exhibited distinct patterns in the analyzed periods. Before the acquisition, the GARCH(1, 1) model was adequate for capturing volatility, whereas after the acquisition, the volatility structure became more complex, suggesting that external factors may have influenced the dynamics of returns. The decline in stock prices following the transaction may be related to variables not directly considered in this study, such as macroeconomic conditions or changes in investor perception.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Respostas metabólicas de fungos filamentosos a fatores ambientais: abordagem por análises metabolômicas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Soares, João Paulo dos Santos; Rodrigues-Filho, Edson; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3667941735597178; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4614296272585474; https://orcid.org/0009-0007-0208-4390This review article aims to discuss the metabolic adaptation mechanisms of filamentous fungi, as well as their subsequent products and how environmental factors influence metabolic pathways, analyzed through metabolomic methods. Filamentous fungi are important subjects of study due to their significance as bioactive compound synthesizers, their bioremediation capabilities, and their broad applicability. This is due to the wide range of metabolites produced by fungi, making it essential to understand their functioning and the metabolic pathways involved. In this context, it is necessary to understand how environmental factors can influence the biosynthetic pathways. To achieve this, metabolomic studies were applied using analytical techniques such as NMR and LC-MS/MS.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Adaptação cultural e validação da “Pearlin Mastery Scale” para o português do Brasil e avaliação da eficácia do programa iSupport-Brasil sobre o senso de domínio em cuidadores não remunerados de pessoas que vivem com demência(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Barbosa, Gustavo Carrijo; Pavarini, Sofia Cristina Iost; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1983620301963081; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-9359-8600; Gratão, Aline Cristina Martins; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7873339343111119; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-8508-0251; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3469213150358215; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8670-1227The sense of mastery is conceptualized as a positive aspect of caregiving, serving as a coping mechanism to reduce caregiver burden and potentially acting as a protective factor for the mental and physical health of individuals caring for people with dementia. The Pearlin Mastery Scale (PMS) is a unidimensional tool that measures the level of individual mastery but lacks validation for use in Brazil. Translating, adapting, and analyzing evidence of validity for this scale are essential steps in assessing the effects of interventions and support programs for caregivers in Brazil, such as iSupport for Dementia, an online support program that provides self-guided education for unpaid caregivers of people living with dementia, aiming to improve the well-being and mental health of this population. Objective: To translate, culturally adapt and validate the Pearlin Mastery Scale for use in Brazil and to verify the effect of iSupport-Brazil on the sense of mastery in unpaid caregivers of people living with dementia. Three articles address the specific objective of this thesis: (1) to translate and culturally adapt the PMS for use in Brazil; (2) to analyze validity evidence for the Brazilian version of the PMS; and (3) to examine the effect of iSupport-Brazil on the sense of mastery among unpaid caregivers of people living with dementia. Methods: A methodological study was conducted following steps that included initial translation, synthesis, back-translation, expert panel review using the Content Validity Index (CVI), and testing the pre-final version of the PMS (1). Evidence of internal structure validity was examined through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability testing, and criterion validity assessment (2). Additionally, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted with 404 participants equally randomized into intervention (IG - iSupport-Brazil) and control groups (CG - educational website and e-book). Outcomes were measured by sense of mastery using the PMS, and symptoms of depression and anxiety using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, at baseline (pre-test), post-intervention (three months after baseline/post-test), and follow-up (six months after baseline). Intention-to-treat (ITT) and per-protocol (PP) analyses were performed to compare groups and time points (within-group) and to assess between-group differences in changes (deltas) (3). All ethical principles were observed. Results: The scale was translated and back-translated by experts, reviewed by doctoral-level judges, and tested with caregivers, with adjustments made to three items based on initial feedback (1). The final version demonstrated good reliability (Cronbach’s alpha=0.75) and significant correlations with burden (p=-0.56), depression (p=-0.57), anxiety (p=-0.57), and quality of life (p=0.64) (2). In the RCT, no significant differences were observed between groups regarding sociodemographic characteristics. Among the 187 post-test participants, the intervention group showed a reduction in depressive symptoms and anxiety, as well as an increase in sense of mastery at follow-up. ITT and PP models did not indicate significant covariance effects (3). Conclusion: The PMS was translated and culturally adapted for Brazil, demonstrating equivalence. Evidence of validity for the Brazilian version of the scale was found based on internal structure, reliability, and correlations with theoretically related constructs, indicating its suitability for use with caregivers of individuals living with dementia. Moreover, the iSupport-Brazil program showed potential to enhance caregivers' sense of mastery following its use. However, there is no evidence that the intervention shows a significant difference between groups regarding its effects on the measure.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação de atributos químicos do solo em sistemas integrados de produção(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Arietti, João Francisco Bonaldo; Rodrigues, Josiane; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3439155677456557; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0365-6227; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3022311718627735The high demand for food resulting from population growth combined with the search for sustainable agriculture requires that current agricultural systems be capable of maximizing the quantity of high-quality products and, at the same time, conserving the environment's natural resources. In accordance with this perspective, integrated systems emerge as a sustainable production strategy, which can aggregate agricultural, livestock and forestry activities in the same area, thus achieving cooperative effects between the components of the agrosystem. Among the benefits brought by integrated systems, we can mention the improvement of soil attributes, which is a vital natural resource for the functioning of ecosystems. Considering the importance of soil, adequate monitoring of its quality is only possible by analyzing the attributes that reflect its production capacity, as well as its sustainability. Within this context, the present work aimed to study the spatial variability of soil chemical attributes in an area of São Carlos/SP that comprises the following production systems: crop-livestock-forest integration, livestock-forest integration, crop-livestock integration, intensive and extensive pasture. For this, through IDW (Inverse Distance Weight) interpolation, spatial variability maps of the following soil chemical attributes in the area were created: pH in water and CaCl2, organic matter, phosphorus, sulfate, potassium, calcium, magnesium, cation exchange capacity and base saturation, at two different depths: 0 - 0.2 and 0.2 - 0.4 m. It can be observed that there was a decrease in the pH values in CaCl2, organic matter, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, cation exchange capacity and base saturation with increasing depth. On the contrary, there was an increase in sulfate values with increasing depth, while soil pH values in water remained constant in both soil depths analyzed. Within the context of the classes considered in the interpolation process, no difference was observed between the production systems about the concentration of the chemical attributes of the soil analyzed, which can be explained by the fact that the integrated systems were recently implemented in the area. The results obtained from the study will assist in the management of the area, thus providing savings in inputs, increased productivity and environmental preservation.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Aplicação de métodos inferenciais a redes bipartidas no estudo do fluxo turístico Europa - Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Pereira, Ana Luiza Barcelos; Cerqueira, Andressa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1934493281651316The present Undergraduate Thesis explores an in-depth study of inferential methods applied to bipartite network data, with a practical application to a dataset that records the arrival of tourists from Europe to the twenty-six Brazilian states, as well as the Federal District, exclusively by air travel. This study focuses on understanding the dynamics of European tourist flows to Brazil by analyzing the arrival of tourists over the semesters between the years 2019 and 2022. To achieve this, inferential methods and computational tools will be employed to provide a detailed analysis of the factors influencing this movement, identifying patterns and trends over time. The modeling will be conducted through the construction of bipartite networks, in which the vertices represent the countries sending tourists and the Brazilian states of destination, while the edges indicate the intensity of the connections between them. Subsequently, the one-mode projection will be applied, allowing the relationships between countries and between states to be analyzed separately. To complement the investigation, histograms will be used—a simple yet effective statistical tool for visualizing variations and changes over the studied period. Additionally, community detection will be performed, a more complex approach aimed at identifying groups of vertices that are more densely connected among themselves than with the rest of the network. This analysis has the potential to reveal interaction patterns that are not perceptible through conventional methods, providing a deeper understanding of the tourism relationships between Europe and Brazil. Thus, this study aims to contribute both to the field of bipartite network analysis and community detection and to the understanding of international tourism in Brazil before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação da silagem de grão úmido em substituição ao milho seco moído na terminação de novilhas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Gasparello, João Pedro; Stipp, Danilo Tancler; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2930975168886154; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9577-2446; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6075205171527332The objective of the work was to analyze the finishing of 60 heifers aged around 18 months, with an average of 353 kg, with 30 heifers belonging to the control group, where a balanced diet was used with the use of finely ground corn, compared to another 30 heifers that were fed with moist corn grain silage (SGUM). Characteristics linked to animal performance were analyzed, such as daily weight gain, carcass yield, gain yield, average dry matter intake and diet cost and total feed cost. Regarding the results, there was no significant difference in relation to average daily weight gain (SGUM 0.946 and Control 1.017), carcass yield (both 0.5) and gain yield (both 0.53), however with regard to the cost of the diet and daily dry matter consumption (SGUM 8.52 and Control 9.58) a significant difference can be observed. In comparison between the types of corn processing, an improvement in feed efficiency of around 10% can be observed when using SGUM in the animals' diet.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Metadados de mangás em biblioteca e sites de e-commerce(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Moura, Yasmin Fattori Ventura de; Zafalon, Zaira Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1584935790390793; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4467-2138Japanese culture is becoming more and more popular around the globe and, along with it, manga, Japanese comic books. Two ways of obtaining these artistic manifestations are through libraries and e-commerce sites. However, in order for manga to be findable by their audience, metadata must be used to represent Japanese comics. Based on this context, the general objective of this research is to evaluate the manga metadata used on e-commerce sites and in libraries. The specific objectives were: to present Japanese comics; to carry out a literature search on general and specific metadata for manga; to analyze the metadata used on e-commerce sites and in libraries; to compare the analysis of manga images with the metadata. This is an applied study with exploratory objectives and a qualitative approach, as well as using bibliographical and documentary research. A form was used to collect and organize the data, and content analysis and the comparative method were used to analyze the results. As a result, it was possible to observe situations in which the library and the e-commerce sites shared the same metadata; situations in which this was only partial; and even cases in which everything was different. In addition, it was observed that there is some standardization adopted by both the library and the e-commerce sites, although it is also possible to notice differences, either on the same site or from one site to another. As for images, there were no situations in which they were represented in any of the information environments studied, despite the fact that illustrations are a fundamental part of manga. It can be concluded that, even if there are cases in which the two institutions handle the same types of metadata, their different representations and presentations may be linked to their institutional objectives.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Otimização energética durante a secagem de concretos refratários via a utilização de simulações numéricas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Gobbato Filho, André Alves de Moraes; Pandolfelli, Victor Carlos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7369376873984839During the drying of monolithic refractory ceramics, it is necessary to control the heating and gain a deeper understanding of the phenomena involved, since if this is not done properly it can result in cracks and fractures in the material. In this work, using finite element simulations, the drying processes of this working layer were analyzed by varying the proportion of the thicknesses of the permanent and insulating layers, in order to determine their impact on the drying process. Based on these scenarios, layers with unusual thicknesses in the industry were simulated in order to better understand the trends when increasing or decreasing the thickness of the insulator in relation to the permanent layer. It was observed that increasing the insulating layer speeds up drying, achieving lower maximum pressure values and consequently a lower resistance ratio. It is also worth noting that with this greater thickness of insulation the heat loss is lower and consequently the energy expenditure.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Terapia ocupacional e assistência social: os desencontros entre a política, os serviços e as necessidades socioassistenciais da pessoa com deficiência e idosa no contexto fluminense(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Basso, Ana Carolina de Souza; Borba, Patrícia Leme de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4193205735379897; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9654-8593; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1366350265903494; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0473-7256This doctoral thesis, based on the historical-critical framework of Marxist tradition, is theoretically supported by the debate about professional work within the context of social policies in capitalist society, focusing on the work of occupational therapists in the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS) in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The general objective of the study was to understand the inclusion of occupational therapists in SUAS in this state, identifying where they are located and analyzing how these professionals develop their work processes within the context of social assistance policy. Specifically, the study aimed to update the historical series of the profession's inclusion at the national level, identify the characteristics of this inclusion, understand their work processes, and explore the particularities of the Rio de Janeiro context that influence how the profession integrates into social assistance policy. To achieve these objectives, a methodological approach was designed in two interconnected stages. The first stage, a survey, used secondary data from the SUAS Census to update and expand the historical series of occupational therapists' inclusion in SUAS at both the national and state levels. Covering the period from 2011 to 2023, this survey analyzed data on age, gender, employment type, service units, and the populations served by occupational therapists, outlining the characteristics of the profession's inclusion in Rio de Janeiro's social assistance system. The second stage, empirical in nature, involved semi-structured interviews with occupational therapists working in SUAS in Rio de Janeiro, complemented by document analysis of regulations, guidelines, and professional directives. The results highlight a structural mismatch between social assistance policy and the socio-assistance needs of people with disabilities and the elderly, evidenced by contradictions in the work of occupational therapists. These contradictions arise from normative guidelines oscillating between rehabilitation demands and SUAS’s socio-assistance objectives, alongside precarious working conditions and challenges in aligning professional practices with policy guidelines. The survey, based on SUAS Census data (2011–2023), revealed that occupational therapists are predominantly concentrated in services such as Day Centers and Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly (ILPIs), operating in a context of precarization and overlapping health and social demands. The interviews and document analysis deepened the understanding of work processes, highlighting how policy fragmentation and disarticulation limit emancipatory practices. However, the thesis does not merely expose this disconnection. It proposes pathways to constructing an encounter understood as an articulation between technical, ethical, and political dimensions capable of transforming professional practices and addressing structural inequalities. This connection requires strengthening multidisciplinary teams, valuing workers, and fostering critical education aligned with SUAS principles. By emphasizing care as a transformative action, the study reaffirms the emancipatory potential of social assistance policy and professional work, projecting possibilities for practices that promote dignity and autonomy for the assisted individuals.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Literatura queer sob a ótica da Ciência da Informação: visibilidade da literatura LGBTQIAP+ em ambientes informacionais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Andrade, Dayani Deysi Santos de; Zafalon, Zaira Regina; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1584935790390793; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4467-2138; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4843919758812313Information Science faces challenges in promoting the visibility of queer literature on digital platforms, where generic terms are often adopted or limited to the literary genre. This study seeks to discuss the dimensions of reading and interpreting this literature, focusing on the social context of users and the visibility of these works in informational contexts. To this end, a qualitative, applied and exploratory approach was used, with a case study of Virginia Woolf's Orlando and James Baldwin's Giovanni's Room. The analysis of the results was based on a full reading of the works and content analysis, identifying recurring themes and assessing the suitability of the terms used on information platforms. As a contribution, new terms were proposed based on a specialized glossary of LGBTQIAP+ terms, seeking to increase the visibility and social contextualization of the works. It was concluded that the platforms analyzed still have significant gaps in assigning terms that effectively reflect the content and social relevance of these narratives.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Dispositivos analíticos colorimétricos para desenvolvimento de tecnologias sustentáveis e sensíveis(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Santos, Heitor de Barros; Piccin, Evandro; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0331437242477234; Carrilho, Emanuel; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9157872297410868; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5400466796300570Because they provide a versatile, economical, and environmentally friendly analytical technique, analytical colorimetric devices have emerged as crucial instruments in both science and industry. With a focus on their potential in environmental monitoring, agricultural production, and medical diagnostics, this essay examines their historical development, underlying concepts, and contemporary applications. There is a detailed discussion of the basic concepts of colorimetry, which are based on the relationship between light, objects, and human perception. The trichromatic theory, additive and subtractive color mixing, and color models such as RGB, HSI, and CIELab, which allow for the precise numerical quantification of color stimuli, form the foundation of colorimetry. These concepts make it possible to distinguish subtle color variations that may be invisible to the human eye. The spectroscopic underpinnings of colorimetric devices' operation are also highlighted in this essay. The review investigates phenomena like transmittance and absorbance as defined by the Beer-Lambert’s law by examining the interaction between electromagnetic light and materials. These ideas form the foundation of both quantitative and qualitative studies and are essential to comprehending the relationship between color intensity and analyte concentration. In the context of recent innovations, the evolution of advanced analytical devices stands out, with paper-based microfluidic devices (μPADs) being the main example used in this study. These devices incorporate the principles of colorimetry into compact and low-cost platforms. They meet the ASSURED criteria for point-of-care testing, providing rapid, sensitive, and environmentally friendly solutions, particularly in remote locations with limited resources. Furthermore, their integration with mobile technologies enhances their applicability for real-time and field analyses. The versatility of μPADs reflects their alignment with sustainable development goals, promoting greener and more accessible analytical methods.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O teorema do ponto fixo de Banach para existência e unicidade de equações diferenciais ordinárias de primeira ordem(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Cenciarelli, Raquel Mansano Gonçalves; Carbone, Vera Lúcia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8281633043632854; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5464-5793; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3951456441734220This work is a collection of results and examples in metric spaces, organized in eight chapters, whose ultimate goal is the proof of the Banach Fixed Point Theorem for the existence and uniqueness of solutions to initial value problems of differential equations. In the development of the work, basic concepts and important examples are addressed that allow the reader to reflect on the main definitions and results established in metric spaces and the Banach Fixed Point Theorem. The notions of Lipschitzian applications, continuity and their relations with open and closed sets, limits and sequences, Cauchy sequences and complete metric spaces are relevant in the development of the study of the themes because they are central points in the discipline of Final Course Work 2. This work is a study of the work Metric Spaces (Lima, 1977), with influence from some other works, such as A Course in Analysis - Volume 1 (Lima, 1976), A Course in Analysis - Volume 2 (Lima, 1981), Metric Spaces and Introduction to Topology (Domingues, 1982) and Lessons in Ordinary Differential Equations (Sotomayor, 1979). In addition, the chosen theme is intended to complement the training of the author, an undergraduate student in Mathematics.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Musicalização como recurso pedagógico para crianças com TEA: uma revisão sistemática da literatura(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Santos, Glória Aparecida Campos; Picharillo, Alessandra Daniele Messali; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6418472162902640; Elias, Nassim Chamel; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4216525883778695; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0725232676353124The present study is a systematic literature review on musicalization as a pedagogical tool in the development of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The main objective of this work is to investigate, through a systematic review, the impact of musicalization as a pedagogical tool on the development of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The aim is to understand how the implementation of musicalization in the educational context influences the communicative skills and social interactions of these children, especially within the school setting. To this end, searches were conducted in articles published in the CAPES Periodicals database. The following descriptors were used for the search in Portuguese: “Música AND autismo,” “Tea AND Música AND Desenvolvimento,” and “Música AND Autismo AND Aprendizagem.” A total of 64 articles were found, of which 10 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria established for the research and were selected for analysis. The results indicate that, despite an increasing number of studies, the use of music as a pedagogical tool in teaching children with ASD is still an area with gaps. The research revealed that the implementation of musical activities significantly contributes to the development of communicative skills and improves the social interactions of these children. In the school context, musicalization can be an effective strategy to promote the inclusion of children with ASD, stimulating not only their cognitive and emotional skills but also fostering their social integration.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Corantes: classificações, propriedades, perigos e formas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-02-11) Sciota, Víctor Biagio Argenton; Souza, Dulce Helena Ferreira de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3428955299526003; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8479-6744Dyes are materials that are part of everyday life in modern society. They are present in food, clothing, fabrics in general and the medical area. However, its use has generated environmental and health impacts human. This work aims to carry out a bibliographical review of respect for the classification, chemical properties and reaction mechanisms of synthetic dyes with different substrates. It will also address how these substances interact with visible radiation through chromophore groups and the influence of the conjugation of double bonds. With this knowledge in hand, it will be possible to understand how some of the current methods used to discolor these materials, such as enzymatic, through laccases, via Fenton and adsorption (through MOFs), given the risks caused by their disposal undue.
