Resumo

Popular Health Education as a public policy has become an important reference for the dialogue between knowledge and social actors in health practices. Occupational Therapy proposes a graduate profile capable of analyzing and acting in the relationships that make up the scenario of the populations served based on occupations, activities and daily routines. Thus, Popular Education in Health demonstrates itself as a possible theoretical-methodological and theoretical-conceptual tool for this action. In this sense, this project aims to report the experience of a student in Occupational Therapy and the influence of Popular Health Education in her training process. The specific objectives are: to identify possible skills and competencies developed from the encounter between the framework of Popular Health Education and training in Occupational Therapy; to analyze how the composition of Teaching, Research and Extension influences the learning guided by these frameworks; to understand what strengths, challenges and learning this experience reveals. A qualitative study was carried out based on the experience report explored by Bondía's theory of knowledge from experience. The data sources of the experiences in the Teaching, Research and Extension axes were analyzed through Thematic Content Analysis. The analysis was carried out based on three categories, classified based on the objectives of the work. As contributions, Popular Education in Health is complementary to several absences and/or concepts defined in a generic way in the National Curricular Guidelines or Occupational Therapy. They are also complementary when defending the transformation with the subjects based on the joint construction of what is common. It can be concluded that the work contributes to the reflection on the use of the Popular Education in Health framework in health training as a producer of a pedagogy of care. As well as with the construction of knowledge and methodologies in Occupational Therapy training based on the sharing of experience.
