Resumo
This work evaluates the adherence of the Global Supply Chain Forum (GSCF) reference model for supply chain management to the context of small Brazilian companies. The research, based on the model proposed by Lambert and Cooper (2000), seeks to understand the structure of the supply network and how and which business processes and management components considered by the model are relevant and impact companies of this size in Brazil. Observing competition in networks, research is necessary to understand the structures and business processes conducted, as well as the relationships between participants in these supply chains. The research has a theoretical basis and interviews with leaders of two companies from different segments: civil construction and industrial machining, with analyzes based on benchmarking and comparison of information. It is possible to say that the model applies to the routine of small companies, with business processes still being structured. The comparison between the companies studied reveals that there is no similarity regarding the adherence of both to the GSCF model solely due to the size of the companies, with the operating segment being the other major factor responsible for the structure of the supply chain, for the formalization of business processes and use of management components on a day-to-day basis.
