Resumo
This work proposes a reflection on the self-publishing process, based on a personal experience, seeking to discuss how linguistic knowledge supports the relationship with writing. In view of a society constituted through graphic symbols, this research advocates writing beyond school and academic contexts and proposes to analyze an editorial object produced and published during undergraduate studies. The work reflects on the teaching methodology of Brazilian schools, defends writing as a therapeutic resource, and describes the process of constituting a book: from the idea to its execution. The work in question is the book “Eu Tenho Medo de Falhar”, published in digital format in September 2025 by an undergraduate student in Linguistics and author of the present work. The research is an experience report and, as such, is not based solely on a single theoretical framework. Ferdinand de Saussure, with the idea that linguistics is not limited to normative procedures, Paul-Michel Foucault, with the proposal of self-writing as a process of subjectivation, and contemporary theories on editorial design support our reflections.
