Resumo
Amid the relationships between science, technology, society and the environment, it is
It is important to understand the science present in our daily lives. The discussions
about its influence on our lives and its effects highlight the importance
of the population to participate in these discussions, exercising citizenship. In that
sense, we need to prepare people to participate in these discussions,
we can meet this purpose through a teaching process, using
socio-scientific issues, which contribute to the development of understanding
of students, about the relationships between science, technology and society,
contributing to decision-making, student action, and training for
citizenship. Thus, in this research, through a teaching process developed
at school with socio-scientific issues that involve the theme of
pesticides and based on the three pedagogical moments, we identified how
potential aspects of this issue for physics teaching, in decision making: the
development of ethical and moral aspects, mobilization of knowledge
scientific research and risk analysis, which support the arguments shared by
participants, in training for citizenship, in addition, it was possible to develop
ability of argumentation and cooperation among students in the construction of
arguments.
