Territorialidade da cultura caipira na Festa do Milho Verde em Capela do Alto- SP: dimensão simbólica e modernidade

Abstract

This research investigated the territoriality of Capela do Alto and its changes due to modernization, focusing on municipal festivities, specifically the Green Corn Festival. The analysis is based on Cultural Geography, to understand the relationship between society and territory, with a focus on culture and its manifestations. The research used the methodology of participant research, together with bibliographical, documentary and oral history research. It sought to understand how caipira culture is related to the construction of the local symbolic dimension. The study aimed to contribute to knowledge about Capela do Alto, highlighting the identification of Capela do Alto with the traditional Festa do Milho Verde (Green Corn Festival).
