As manifestações da indústria cultural em instituições de educação infantil e possíveis formas de resistência: duas realidades no município de São Carlos

Abstract

This dissertation means to reflect on the childhood condition, with all its natural and historic complexity as well as on the manner by which it has been used in a manicheistic way by the society. Recognizing the strong influence of the cultural industry on this age group, it discusses the great responsibility of the school as a mediator of possible manitestations of this industry within the institution and as the responsible for an autonomous and critical formation. The institutionalized child education is seen as the competence to, through its program and with the use of an actually reflexive pratice, resist the attacks of this machine which aims the consumption and the annihilation of consciences. Two institutions have been observed in order to illustrate the quotidian of the child education institute and to point out some aspects which deserve a higher pedagogical investment in order to act as a focus of resistance.
