This research aims to map the main competences developed by the graduates of the Professional Master’s degrees in Management of Organizations and Public Systems, of the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), as a consequence of the accomplishment of the said course. For this, a historical contextualization of the people management as field of study is made; presenting crucial concepts of the evolution of people management, such as strategic management and competency-based management, the historical evolution of labor relations in the public service since from the Vargas Government, up to Lula/Dilma Governments. It’s also made a portrait of the identifiable competencies in professionals of the public services; besides of contextualize, seeking to understand the post-graduation in Brazil, until the Professional Master’s Degree. It is about a quantitative research, applied, descriptive and exploratory, whose adopted method for the data to collect is the survey, through a cross-sectional study, of structured questionnaires on a Likert scale. The results are analyzed and discussed based on tables, graphics, dispersion measures and other methods, that allow us to trace the graduates profile of the course, enabling the comparison between the data collected in this research and the data presented by Capes; in this way, we can define that the profile of the ex-students indicates a population that is essentially feminine, working in the Federal public service, with age between 35 and 39 years old. Regarding competencies, with the help of an indicator called a standard score, a ranking of the competencies explored in this study was elaborated, identifying which one had higher and lower development indices, for the graduates, as a result of the post-graduation; after such ranking, competences were grouped into three categories: high, medium, low and very low degree of development, according to the definition of the median and quartiles of the data obtained. Thus, this research aims to foster discussions in the field of competence-based management in the public service, to build subsidies for self-reflection in postgraduate programs, as well as to support other researchers, contributing to effective and efficient people management within the public administration.

To physically distribute finished goods, shippers can hire third-party logistics (3PL) in order to meet the forecasted demand by the customers. Nevertheless, the contract made between shippers and 3PL is based on decisions that need to be considered over several time horizons: strategic, tactical and operational. This question, known as fleet dimensioning or fleet composition problem, has been vastly approached in literature, divided mainly into two Operational Research’s techniques: Systems Simulation and Optimization. However, it is known that these techniques when applied in a pure or isolated form are not capable of delivering the adequate solution for the problem, once they need several simplifications, in the case of Optimization, or require an exhaustive analysis process, in the case of Simulation. The aim of this study is to propose a sequential simulation-optimization method with rolling horizons to integrate the solutions given by both techniques and provide a much more adequate result for the decision maker. As result, the more realistic dynamical and stochastic characteristics of the simulation model and the optimized fleet provided by the optimization model are successfully united in a rolling horizon environment. This combination has been analyzed over three different scenarios of demand variation, from 10 to 30%. When comparing to the isolated optimization, it can be highlighted the quantity of SPOT vehicles needed to overcome the unpredictability of transport solicitations and the relative costs of not considering simulation on decision making, which can increase the final costs of dimensioning implementation by up to 30%. Therefore, it becomes possible for the shipper to periodically re-evaluate his fleet dimensioning, providing a much safer decision-making process and a much better use of resources.

The occurrence and isotopic composition of carbonaceous components in ancient rocks are strong evidence of life forms on the Earth's surface since the Eoarchean (> 3.7 Ga). These organic components are found in rocks formed in different contexts and the earliest examples of organic matter are found in Isua Greenstone Belt rocks (> 3.7 Ga) in Greenland; in the Pilbara Craton, at the North Pole Dome region (> 3.4 Ga), Australia; and in South Africa, in the Greenstone Belt of Barberton (> 3.2 Ga). In these examples, organic matter is associated with rocks formed in oceanic environments, in the vicinity of exhaling fumaroles, as well as in coastal environments. Another important example is the Witwatersrand Basin (2.9 to 2.7 Ga) in South Africa, where the organic matter is found widespread as bitumen, oil fluid inclusions and graphite inclusions in detrital components of conglomerate horizons. Organic matter in this basin has an intrinsic relationship with gold mineralization, uranium, and pyrite. Specifically, in the São Francisco Craton, State of Bahia, there are two deposits that have similarities with those mentioned above, although there are differences between their ages of formation. The first of these occurs in the Mundo Novo Greenstone Belt. The second deposit, represented by the conglomerates of the Jacobine Basin, is in many ways similar to the Witwatersrand Basin and its mineralization of gold, uranium, and pyrite. In both deposits are reported the occurrence of organic matter. For this reason, analyzes were performed via micro-Raman spectroscopy and SEM/EDS on pyrite grains to identify and characterize the association of the organic matter with gold deposits of Jacobina Basin and the Fazenda Coqueiro VMS deposit, of the MNGB, Bahia, Brazil. The results clearly show the presence of carbonaceous agglomerates (characteristic of organic matter) - peaks between 1400 and 1660 cm-1. Moreover, the presence of cline and calcochlorites also identified in the micro-Raman spectra potentiate the presence of organic matter. In addition, it will be held later dating (direct or indirect) of the material in order to include it within the Archean Era. This result is of great importance to science because it would record that primitive life forms on Earth's surface would be dated more than 3 Ga.

This research was carried out with preschool children of a Municipal Early Childhood Education institution, in the city of Piracicaba, and aimed to identify relationships of playing with mathematical knowledge, promoted from the experiences experienced with children in everyday life and in the games of Early Childhood Education, being guided by the following question: What mathematical knowledge is built from the experiences experienced with children in preschool phase? For this, it was used the qualitative research as a methodological basis with the design of a case study from the pedagogical project "The construction". This was born from listening to the voices, movements and gestures of children during the play with pieces of wood, recognized as unstructured material. The data were produced by means of observation, recording, reflection and discussions of those involved during the elaboration and execution of this project. To analyze the data, we opted for data triangulation: children's speeches recorded in the researcher's field diary, implementation of the pedagogical project and observations of the experiences with the children. After establishing the triangulation of the data produced during the research, two categories of analysis were listed from the problem issue, a priori, and the emergence of the case study, a posteriori: The involvement of children during the experiences with civil construction and the mathematical knowledge present in the experiences with civil construction. The research shows the involvement of children during the experiences, since it started from the discovery of the world of construction, a curiosity initially demonstrated through play. The mathematical knowledge understood as one of the children's languages was an integral part of the possibilities experienced by children in play, involving the notions of inside and outside, greatness, correspondence one by one, and geometry. The research identified that, with the project's proposal, the children came into contact with more elaborate cultural forms in contact with plants of houses and with the construction of a barbecue, using objects suitable for this purpose during the games. Through the interactions, the children researched the objects and their possibilities in the reproduction of the characteristics of civil construction, and with the mediation of the teacher-researcher, the children came into contact with the mathematical knowledge inserted in the games, expanding the cultural repertoire on the subject.

Superfícies de Curvatura Média Constante no Espaço Euclidiano
(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2019-03-19) Santos, José Ramos Araujo dos; Barreto, Alexandre Paiva; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3369766702725474; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0172508920060518
This paper deals with the surfaces of constant mean curvature in the Euclidean space. The first part of the text is devoted to minimal surfaces. We begin our studies with the Enneper-Weirstrass Representation Theorem and discuss some of its most important applications such as Jorge-Xavier, Rosenberg-Toubiana, and Osserman Theorems. Next, we present the Principle of Tangency of Fontenele-Silva and use it to demonstrate the classical half-space Theorem. We close this part by discussing the topological constraints imposed by the hypothesis of finite total curvature. In the second part of the manuscript we studied the surfaces of constant mean curvature, possibly non-zero. We start with Heinz's Theorem and its applications, we present the classification theorem of the surfaces of rotation with constant mean curvature made by Delaunay, and we conclude with the concept of stability where we demonstrate the classical Sphere Stability Theorem. We close the text with a succinct presentation of recent results on the surfaces of Weingarten in the Euclidean space.

This research aimed to analyze how institutions - shared rules and meanings that guide social interaction - influence the organizational modeling of the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), with regards to the coordinations of undergraduate courses. UFSCar, the first federal university to be implemented in the State of São Paulo, was based on the North American model of university management and is structured in departments. On the other hand, the organization of the Federal University of ABC, the newest of the State, and one of the youngest in Brazil, was conceived under the commitment of university reform, signed by the Manifesto of Angra, influenced by the European reform movement, and emphasize the abolition of departments, aiming to assign an interdisciplinary dynamic to higher education. In view of the two conceptions of university model, this work was developed from open, semistructured interviews conducted with coordinators and vice-coordinators of courses of the two universities. Courses were selected that the universities have in common, as a way of reducing the "variability" of the situations that the coordinators face and, as a result, favor the possibility of comparison. The questions were defined using as a theoretical framework the New Institutionalism, especially its sociological school. The interviews were analyzed according to the following variables: sources of isomorphism, patterns of connection and distribution of resources, efficiency and effectiveness of formal rules, strategic agents and institutions. In spite of the differences in their organizational models, which imply different degrees of verticalized and horizontal connections, similar isomorphic forces were observed acting on the coordination of course coordinates. In the case of UFABC, however, the mimetic isomorphism has a particularity: the lack of reference to be mimicked.

The present study has the purpose of studying the mapping of female participation in teaching, research and extension actions within the scope of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP), and the first of these three pillars is analyzed gender issues in a more comprehensive way. To justify the relevance of the work, it is based on the idea that science is not neutral and that, therefore, there are significant differences in the participation, rise and permanence of women in science and technology. Thus, the results obtained provide a diagnosis of how the female participation has been worked in the institution, making possible the adoption of strategic decisions in order to promote gender equity in its context. The research is structured in three parts, (i) bibliographical survey, (ii) documentary research and (iii) field research. The first one allows us to construct an overview of the subject in the areas of science and technology in a national and international panorama, as well as a historical trajectory of the feminine achievements in the promotion of equity and the definition of concepts pertinent to the theme. The second phase, documentary research, analyzes programs, projects and actions focused on gender, or more specifically on women's participation, in the three pillars that support the institution: teaching, research and extension. In the field of education, the pedagogical projects of the 138 undergraduate courses offered in the IFSP by the year 2018 were examined, identifying disciplines that address the issue of gender in its menu or bibliography. In the scope of the extension, programs, projects and other actions were mapped through open data of the IFSP, having as object of analysis the female participation. Concluding the documentary research, we present data related to research groups linked to the institution, also mapping the presence of women in certain contexts. Finally, some of the proponents of these actions, obtained through interviews, are brought in order to better characterize the context and final considerations regarding the research as a whole. It is concluded that there are significant advances on the part of the Institution in promoting a more egalitarian environment, since the discussion has been gaining strength in the various spheres. However, there are still gaps in studies and initiatives to be taken, since there are areas with a very small female participation when compared to men.
