listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, A interpretação de línguas de sinais como ação conjunta: uma análise da interação entre o intérprete de turno e o intérprete de apoio(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Souza, Beatriz Bruni de; Silva, João Paulo da; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6111069189059770; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5265001180078254It has been increasingly becoming common, in many interpreting situations between Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and Portuguese, that the interpreters do not work by themselves. For several reasons, among which dealing with the cognitive burden demanded by the activity, many interpreters have been preferring to work in association with other interpreters (RID, 2007; HOZA, 2010; BRÜCK, 2011; RUSSELL, 2011; COKELY, HAWKINS, 2013, quoted by NOGUEIRA, 2016). While a first interpreter takes the turn (called “interpreter of the turn”), a second one assists the interpreter of the turn as a supporter in different ways (called “supporter interpreter”) (NOGUEIRA, 2016; SANTIAGO, 2017). The purpose of this investigation was to analyze and describe the interaction between the interpreter of the turn and the supporter interpreter in a linguistic interpretation involving Libras and Portuguese. For that, we assume Herbert Clark’s thesis (1996) that the language use is a form of joint action in which the participants engage and coordinate their actions so they concretize a joint project. The interpreters work as participants of the situations they are interpreting and their joint work is the focus of interest in this paper. The corpus of this research was constituted by a videotap of the interpretation of a class in virtual format, in which two interpreters worked as a team. The analysis presented in this paper were made after transcribing the video in ELAN, a transcription software created to work on multimodal data analysis. With this work, we could conclude that, to describe to the interaction in a broader way, we must look beyond the mental processes involving the interaction and observe the gestural and corporal elements in the interaction between the interpreter of the turn and the supporter interpreter.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Geração de bioeletricidade, através do bagaço e da palha da cana-de-açúcar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Mercante, André Luiz Petrini; Valsechi, Octavio Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2072744263052505; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5387293073313547The problems of using non-renewable energies and the need to look for renewable alternatives, which are less harmful to the environment and important to meet the growing demand for energy, make several countries strive to develop new technologies, through research and studies, with the objective of replacing the use of non-renewable energies, following a new world order that seeks to rethink the ways of obtaining and generating electric energy while preserving the environment. This work presents the ability to generate bioelectricity through sugarcane bagasse and straw, and its potential to guarantee the high efficiency of energy cogeneration in the plants. Sugarcane biomass offers many advantages that contribute to preserving the environment in the future. Energy cogeneration, from bagasse and straw, is a good alternative for the Brazilian energy matrix. There are still other advantages in the use of bagasse for energy generation, such as the addition of low-cost energy to the system, immune to exchange rate variations and oil prices. Bagasse and straw can become even more important components in the Brazilian energy matrix, and the potential for this already exists.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Fragilidade e mortalidade de idosos em contexto de alta vulnerabilidade social: um estudo prospectivo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Menezes, Ana Laura Costa; Orlandi, Fabiana de Souza; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7395879552721664; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8695772348526600Frailty is a multidimensional syndrome and a predictor of adverse outcomes in the elderly. The aim of this study was to identify changes in the levels of frailty and its relationship with mortality in the elderly in a context of high social vulnerability. This is a prospective cohort study. Two assessment surveys were carried out: one at the baseline (2015) and another after 36 months (2018) in the municipality of São Carlos - SP. For data collection, we used the Phenotype of Fragility, instruments for sociodemographic characterization, health conditions and mortality. The data were analyzed using the software R version 3.5.3 in R-Studio, in which descriptive analyzes were performed, where the quantitative variables were presented in the form of median and the qualitative variables in the form of absolute frequency. Kruskal-Wallis test was also performed; Equality of proportions test; Multinomial logistic regression; Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Cox Regression. The project to which this study is linked was authorized by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Carlos and the use of the database was authorized. In the first assessment, in 2015, carried out with 346 elderly people, there was a predominance of female elderly (56.4%) and aged between 60-69 years (53.2%). In the second assessment, in 2018, 223 elderly people were reevaluated, who were mostly female (57.4%) and aged between 70 and 79 years old (44.8%). Among those who died, there was a predominance of elderly men (64.5%) and aged between 70 and 79 years (38.7%). Among the fragile assessed in 2015, 36.8% remained in this condition, while 52.5% returned to pre-fragility and 11.8% became non-fragile. In relation to the pre-fragile, 25.4% became non-fragile, 57.9% remained as pre-fragile and 16.7% became fragile. Among those without fragility, 37.9% remained non-fragile, 58.6% became pre-fragile and 3.4% became fragile. In the first assessment, the male gender and the presence of depressive symptoms were configured as factors associated with pre-frailty and frailty. The age group from 70 to 79 years old, on the other hand, was associated with pre-frailty, while lower education and self-rated health were considered to be conditions associated with frailty. While higher education and better health-related quality of life were predictors of pre-frailty and frailty, respectively. Of the elderly who died, 15.6% were frail, 6.2% pre-frail and 3.4% non-frail. In the survival analysis, he identified a higher proportion of non-frail elderly compared to the frail (p = 0.027), as well as for female (p = 0.038), younger (p = 0.021), physically active (p <0.001), with good and excellent self-perception of health status (p <0.001), without urinary (p = 0.013) and fecal incontinence (p = 0.048) and absence of depressive symptoms (p = 0.043). As for the Cox regression model, it was found that frailty (p = 0.040), male gender (p = 0.030), age over 80 years (p = 0.009) and fecal incontinence (p = 0.020) were predictors for death. In conclusion there were changes in the prevalence of frailty, since in the second assessment the prevalence of frail elderly people decreased. However, most participants remained in a pre-fragile condition. There was also a relationship between frailty and mortality, as this condition being a predictor of death in the elderly in a context of high social vulnerability.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Efeitos da probabilidade transicional e fonotática na extração de palavras e mapeamento simultâneo com estímulos visuais ao longo de tentativas ambíguas(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Prequero, Isabella Toselli; Souza, Débora de Hollanda; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3640676759708745; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1359203683368171The present study aimed to investigate the effect of the alignment or misalignment of transitional and phonotactic probabilities on a task of segmentation and simultaneous mapping across ambiguous trials. Forty individuals participated and they were randomly assigned to two groups. The first group listened to a language with aligned probabilities and the second group listened to the same language, but with misaligned probabilities. The experiment was conducted in the Laboratory of Social Interactions of UFSCar and the tasks were presented on a video monitor and performed with the help of a keyboard connected to the notebook where the program was run. The experiment consisted of computer tasks divided into three phases: familiarization with the language, a segmentation test and a mapping test. After doing the tests, participants answered a questionnaire containing questions about their fluency in other languages. The hypothesis was that the word mapping would facilitate word segmentation regardless of the alignment or misalignment of the two probabilities. The results showed that participants of language 1 were able to extract the words and map them to their referents. Language 3 participants, however, did not segment the words above chance, but were able to map them to their referents. Possibly, misalignment of the probabilities affected the preference in the segmentation test. A next study needs to investigate the segmentation process with L3 in order to explain the results obtained in the present study.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, O uso de extrato de orégano (Origanum vulgare ) no controle de bactérias da fermentação etanólica a partir de cana-de-açúcar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Oliveira, Amanda Cristina Dias de; Valsechi, Octavio Antonio; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2072744263052505; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3307811476105745The fermentation process is an important stage in the production of ethanol, however throughout production it can occur contaminations that directly influence the quality and quantity of ethanol produced. The main group of contaminating bacteria in the production of ethanol in fermentation are Lactobacillus, which can compromise the efficiency of the process, making it necessary to use antibiotics. In view of this scenario, the present study aimed to evaluate the use of oregano extract (EO) as a natural antibacterial to control these microorganisms. The oregano extract was produced in the laboratory under sterile conditions 24 hours before use. It was applied in four concentrations, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 ppm. Based on these concentrations, the effect of the extract on contaminating bacteria and yeasts was evaluated, based on the number of initial cells and after the inoculation of the extract, comparing it with the commercial antibiotic used in sugar and alcohol plants. To carry out the study, fermentation took place in six hours. The results revealed that after fermentation the oregano extract showed a control effect on the contaminating bacteria. At the highest concentration tested (1000 ppm), EO reduced approximately 73% of the initial microbial load. In this way the results demonstrated that the oregano extract proved to be promising for the control of contaminating bacteria in the ethanolic fermentation process, as well as not compromising the development of fermentative yeasts.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Figuras masculinas da educação infantil no munícipio de Sorocaba: discussão sobre a performatividade de gêneros(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Nascimento, Mateus; Ambrózio, Aldo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0680232021190747; Nakayama, Bárbara Cristina Moreira Sicardi; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9746628149674449; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7513268691280103The insertion of the male figure in the spaces of Early Childhood arises from social transformation, through much struggle by feminist movements in order to deconstruct the sovereign paradigm of the heterosexual and Christian white man who imposes the control of bodies and the performance of genders, therefore, the female is seen to be assigned in submissive functions to men, and in school spaces women are seen as caregivers / mothers while men have positions focused on technologies. The entry of male figures in these spaces considered female enables the debate and research on the gender issue, resulting from the non-acceptance of the Brazilian conservative society and even of conservative political groups in the contemporary scenario.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Gerenciamento de processos, qualidade e gestão ambiental em cooperativa prestadora de serviços de saúde: Unimed São Carlos(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2021-01-11) Alliprandini, Rafael; Lizarelli, Fabiane Letícia; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4525431419326559; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0635891768705296The reason for this paper is to describe the activities of the internship on the industry of heath care services- Unimed São Carlos. These events add a negative impact to COPD including changes in symptomatology and cardiac autonomic function. There is currently an interest in differentiating these patients into phenotypes using findings or a combination of common characteristics. However, it is not known whether patients who report a greater impact of the disease in this period have a worse profile in cardiac autonomic modulation (CAM). Objectives: To investigate whether in patients with Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (EACOPD), the impact of the referred disease influences the CAM. Methods: COPD patients of both sexes who were hospitalized for EADPOC were evaluated. The disease impact was assessed using the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) questionnaire, composed of 8 evaluative items on a scale from 0 to 5 with a final score of 0 to 40 points. The patients were divided into two groups: According to the values obtained in the CAT tool in 1) GCAT 1 (N = 11, patients with CAT≤20) and 2) GCAT 2 (N = 11, patients with CAT> 20). The evaluation of CAM was performed by analyzing the heart rate variability (HRV) considering the linear indications in the time domain (mean HR, mean RR, STDRR, rMSSD, RRtri, TINN) and in the frequency domain (LF, HF and LF/HF); and nonlinear analysis by Poincaré SD1, SD2, ApEn, SampEn, alpha1 and alpha 2) using a 300-point stretch in the heart rate record and RR interval in the dynamic process of HR at rest in patients hospitalized for EADPOC. Results: There were no significant differences between GCAT1 and GCAT2 (comparing HRV indications). There was a significant negative correlation between the SNS index and the CAT score (r =-0.44, p= 0.03). Positive correlations between CAT score and HRV variables: STDRR (r=0.54, p<0.01), RRtri (r=0.42, p=0.04), TINN (r=0.52, p=0.01), SD1 (r=0.50, p=0.01), SD2 (r=0.53, p=0.01). Conclusion: The clinical manifestation phenotypes during exacerbations of COPD do not differentiate the profile of autonomic cardiac modulation, however, it was observed that the greater the clinical impact of the disease, the greater the parasympathetic index and the total cardiac modulation.
