(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2022-12-07) Tsuda, Karina Hikaru; Ferragi, Cesar Alves; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8059661338196579; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8066-500X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0161888679233246
The Korean Wave, also known as Hallyu or k-wave, seems to present certain implications to the cultural tourism field and might be an example to other countries. Hallyu is comprehended as a cultural phenomenon that stimulated fast development of South Korea through soft power, which means the diffusion and the internationalization of South Korean popular culture. It is observed through literature review that public policies in South Korea established by the government were essential in order to achieve its actual scenario in tourism. This academic work has the objective to discuss its interfaces to tourism, as well as its economics and social impacts, bringing up some issues still little addressed in the academy regarding Hallyu Tourism, its cultural products and its impacts to international demand influences.

The final project arose from the concerns of a graduate student who, after experiences in extension projects, internships, and scientific initiation, began to question the relationship between elementary school teachers and the current public policies for financing basic education in Brazil. To address these concerns, this research seeks to identify how public elementary school teachers, especially high school teachers, understand public education financing policies. To this end, the work developed a search for answers to the following questions: How do public elementary school teachers understand public policies for financing Brazilian education? Is it possible to identify manifestations of these public policies in the classroom? To obtain this data, we provided an open-ended questionnaire for these same teachers to complete online, and the responses were analyzed through discursive textual analysis (DTA). The results indicate that there is currently a gap between teachers' understanding of how basic education financing works and how it actually works, generating doubts and insecurities for them, making discussions on the subject almost non-existent in all environments, including schools and during the training process of these teachers.

Medicinal chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry have established themselves as great allies of human development, producing bioactive compounds intended at the development of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and veterinary products. The N-heterocyclic compounds, which are present in the central skeleton of several natural products, have been widely studied, especially for obtaining drugs, since they are able to modify, modulate and optimize the properties according to the need in therapeutic treatments. Among this class, those that have the quinolinic nucleus in their structure deserve to be highlighted because of their wide range of pharmacological activities. In the literature there are classic routes for the synthesis of quinoline derivatives, however, even if efficient, many of them require conditions that affect the safety of the environment and the operator. Thus, it is necessary to study and expand different methods and techniques that follow the green chemistry principles and provide synthetic protocols that are as sustainable as possible, and effective at the same time. In this work, in addition to a review about the history, structure, synthesis and various applications of quinolinic compounds, methodologies developed in recent years that include their formation through C-H functionalization reactions were also be explored. More specifically, the formation of new derivatives from quinoline N-oxide and 1,3-oxazoline-2-thione were evaluated. Two quinolinic compounds denominated 3a (yield: 7-29%) and 3b (yield: 10-28%) were obtained, and the perspective is to continue optimizing the reaction, in order to explore its derivatives and introduce the study of bioactivity and possible applications.

The thesis is situated in the field of historiographical research, particularly the History of School Institutions. Its object of study is the Casa Escola da Pesca, a public municipal school located in the insular region of the municipality of Belém, capital of the state of Pará. The school offers Primary and Secondary Education through Youth and Adult Education. It also offers Initial Training courses in Fishing and Aquaculture and Technical courses in Fishing Resources, in each stage, respectively. It uses the Alternation Pedagogy to organize its teaching. The main objective is to retell the history of the Escola da Pesca, taking the Alternation Pedagogy as the common thread. The School is the result of an educational and economic policy that enunciated the valorization of Sustainable Development initiated in the 1990s. Its goal was to include the region of Belém's islands in the economic dynamic whose riverside population lived from the work of artisanal fishing in the productive chain of the fish. The proposed objective for the school was to attend the children of the fishing workers, offering school education and technical training in fishing, taking the Alternation Pedagogy as the means for the integration and the balance between traditional school knowledge and the new work techniques. Their experience of the Alternation Pedagogy is part of the movement and evolution of this pedagogy. Interviews were conducted with students who had graduated from the first classes and also with people involved in the process of creation and installation of the Casa Escola da Pesca. In addition, we used as sources documents produced by and for the school. Fishery workers are part of a population that is mostly illiterate or with an average of three years in school. The training for their work takes place in the families through observation and practice. The creation of a fishing school was the materialization of the desire to have access to Basic Education. The interviews with the graduates revealed that studying at the Escola da Pesca has meant a change in their lives and in their perspective about life, work, and family. Most of the interviewees do not work in fishing, nor do they live in the region of the islands anymore. The school became a space of family, of memories, and of some personal projects.

This thesis proposes an implementation of a framework for mapping graphs onto manycore architectures with multi-objective metrics optimization. The aim is to propose a new approach in relation to the works found in the related literature. To validate this proposal, the following are presented: a calibration methodology and multi-objective mapping of tasks related to pattern detection in high-resolution images (binary and grayscale), and a proposal for a new self-adaptive methodology to be used in multi-objective algorithms for mapping applications for manycore architectures. The results obtained through the pattern detection and task mapping methodology on manycore architectures demonstrate a high rate of generalization and accuracy. This brings a new contribution regarding the use of the evaluated multi-objective algorithms, with the best performance obtained by the PESAII algorithm, which was not previously reported in the literature. The methodology related to the mapping and use of the self-adaptive strategy represents a complete study with the Hypervolume and IGD performance indicators, proving the greater effectiveness of PESAII for the Hypervolume metric. This also makes a new contribution regarding the NSGAIII and SPEA2 algorithms regarding the metric IGD, demonstrating the improvement of the obtained results in the use of the proposed self-adaptive strategy.

The history of the deaf community is characterized by the struggle for their rights and spaces in society, including educational spaces. Despite the achievements, the community continues to face barriers concerning inclusion and its insertion in society, which is by right. The legislation guarantees access for deaf people to educational spaces, such as Law No. 10.436/02 and Decree No. 5.626/05, which recognize Brazilian sign language (BSL) as a legal means of communication and guarantee bilingual education. Other laws and decrees exist, but inclusion and teaching are only partially effective. It is crucial to recognize that inclusion alone is not enough. Apart from including deaf students at school, it is essential to think about methodologies that help professionals in the classroom since many concepts are abstract and hard to understand in Biology. Thus, this work aims at creating an accessible didactic material in BLS using the taxidermized animals of the Fauna Laboratory (LabFau) of UFSCar - Araras to assist in the teaching of Natural Sciences with a focus on the area of Conservation and protection of Biodiversity, according to the Curriculum of the State of São Paulo. A discussion on the importance of teaching materials accessible to deaf students in High School is proposed. This work contributes to the reflection of undergraduate students and teachers on the importance of using accessible didactic materials in BSL for teaching deaf students. Accessible material was produced by photographing taxidermized animals using different perspectives. A presentation was prepared that contained short videos in which information about the animals was presented in BSL. Five taxidermized animals of the Mammalia class and Eutheria subclass were used. Such didactic materials give access to visual and spatial information to deaf students, permitting a greater understanding of Biology content. This work should bring the teachers to reflect on the importance of effective inclusion and on methodologies that are accessible to deaf students.

In this work, we adress the study of stability of a reaction-difusion equation in two domains: in a family of surfaces of revolution without boundary and in a bounded open interval whose diffusion function vanishes at a point inside this interval. In the first problem, in addition to proving the existence of stable non-constant stationary solutions for the Allen-Cahn equation in a family of surfaces of revolution without boundary, we analyze the asymptotic behavior and the instability of solutions when λ → ∞, where λ is a positive parameter whose inverse can be interpreted as a difusibility coefficient. While in the second problem, called degenerate Allen-Cahn problem, because we are dealing with a difusion function that vanishes at a point inside the interval, the main operator is not uniformly elliptical and for this reason, it is not possible to use results of the related literature nor the usual spaces. In this case, we prove that a specific function, namely a step function taking only two values – the stable zeros of the bistable function f –, is a stable non-constant stationary solution of degenerate problem.

In the mid-1960s, discussions began on the reinvention of public administration in Brazil. The administrative reinvention brought to the discussion the new models, New Public Management and Managerialism. These models were put into practice via state reforms, which occurred concomitantly with educational reforms, with the Brazilian State being a signatory to the restructuring aimed at higher education. The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), created by Decree nº 3.835, of 1960, since its creation presented different administrative models, sometimes with authoritarian bias, sometimes with democratic and managerial biases. In an attempt to identify the administrative models that influenced or interconnected the administrative structuring and the elaboration of the institutional policies of UFSCar during forty years, the guiding questions of the research are: What were the institutional policies of the period from 1960 to 2010 that aligned or interconnected with the managerial approach and what were the impacts of these policies in regards to the development of UFSCar? In which moment is it possible to say that the managerial institutional policies at UFSCar began? Were there institutional policies at UFSCar that could be classified as managerial? Did these institutional policies helped discovering UFSCar's identity? In order to answer such questions, the general objective of the research were: to discuss the interface between democratic management and the specificities or tools of the Managerialism perspective in the elaboration of UFSCar's institutional policies. To carry out this research the hypothetical-deductive method was adopted as well as the following resources: bibliographic review and integrative document analysis, semi-structured interviews with “probe questions” with UFSCar managers for the production of the metatext. This metatext contains six sections: the first presents the research trajectory; the second explains the political and economic aspects that surrounded the creation of UFSCar; the third addresses the specificities of the 1980s and the need to institutionalize democracy at UFSCar and understand the university's identity; the fourth deals with the specificities of the 1990s highlighting the adoption of Situational Strategic Planning, as an administrative tool; the fifth section discusses the institutional policies designed and put into practice from 2000 to 2010 for the democratization of the access to higher education, a period in which the UFSCar Institutional Development Plan (PDI) was identified with longitudinal strategies for university management; finally, the sixth and last section presents the conclusions of this study. It can be concluded that UFSCar's institutional agents, concerned with consolidating the institution's identity as an internationally recognized university with academic and social prestige and with the use of democratic management as a guiding administrative model, constituted the UFSCar ethos emphasizing the specificities from the managerial-democratic approach which made it possible to interconnect the theoretical references of democratic management with practices and uses of managerialism for the elaboration of institutional policies while denying the centralizing authoritarian approach of the university founders.
