In the first chapter, I carried out a systematic literature review, focusing on articles on forest restoration, ecological restoration, carbon and remote sensing up to November 2022. The systematic review was conducted using the Web of Science database. Exclusion and inclusion criteria were applied, resulting in 38 studies that were analyzed based on information such as place of publication, location of the study, type of vegetation, type of restoration, type of satellites and modeling used in the scientific articles. In the second chapter, an area undergoing restoration using the direct sowing method was monitored from 2018 to 2022, and each year the vegetation indices (NDVI, SAVI, EVI, PRI and CO2Flux) were analyzed to understand the behavior and growth of the restored vegetation in each year. At the same time, forest inventory data collected by the SemeAR/UFSCar Research Group was used. Using this data, it was possible to calculate the total biomass (t.dm/ha) and the carbon stock in the trees and in the stratum (tCO2e), establishing relationships with the vegetation indices by means of a multiple linear regression analysis using the Stepwise technique in RStudio. The main results of this work include: (i) mapping research into forest restoration, ecological restoration, carbon and remote sensing; (ii) calculating the carbon stock and biomass for the study area, restored using the direct seeding technique; and (iii) comparing the forest inventory data with the information generated by the vegetation indices, highlighting the relationship between these indices and the information on the carbon stock.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Os estilos discursivos de médicos em formação(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-12-21) Souza, Abraão Golfet de; Barros, Mariana Luz Pessoa de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4830505244404566; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9389556526183637Doctors generally establish a vertical relationship with their patients, in which there are many asymmetries in the dialogue, but this socio-historical construction of asymmetries and distancing can be mitigated when the doctor brings his discourse closer to the patient, humanizing his professional practice. Medical schools can help with this through their role in training new professionals. With this in mind, this research focused on analyzing simulations of care provided virtually by medical students at a federal university in the interior of the state of São Paulo, in order to understand how students are evaluated and, based on this evaluation, how they construct their discursive styles. In order to do this, we started with French semiotics, especially the writings of Jacques Fontanille and his semiotic practices, and we used the concept of Zilberberg's tensiveness and Landowski's zoosociosemiotics. We elaborated and categorized 4 main discursive styles of doctors in training: humanized, bureaucratic, emotional and indifferent. In our analysis, we noticed a movement on the part of the university to get students to identify more with the humanized style and to understand it as conforming to the norm. We hope that this semiotic elaboration of discursive styles will enable new analyses of doctor-patient relationships, which are still lacking in studies and research in the field of linguistics.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Produtividade total dos fatores e emissões de gases de efeito estufa: uma análise para a agropecuária na Amazônia Legal(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-12-21) Lima, Janaína Alves de; Bragagnolo, Cassiano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3604206454925741; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5265560700602985Deforestation in the Legal Amazon region is one of the main factors generating greenhouse gas emissions. These emissions can be minimized with the efficient use of areas destined for agriculture in the region. Given this context, this study aims to measure the growth in Total Factor Productivity - TFP - based on data from the 2006 and 2017 Agricultural Censuses, Municipal Agricultural Production - PAM - and the state's Gross Domestic Product - GDP - for agriculture, all published by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE, as well as data from the Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals Estimation System - SEEG. The estimates were made using the Malmquist (M) and generalized Malmquist (GM) indices, which do not take into account the generation of undesirable by-products, the Greenhouse Gases (GHGs). These indices were compared with the Malmquist-Luenberger (ML) and global Malmquist-Luenberger (GML) indices, which take into account the presence of these by-products in agricultural production. The results pointed to a growth in TFP for the Legal Amazon, both for productivity and for the change in technical efficiency and technological efficiency. However, for the GML and ML indices, which take into account the existence of by-products, growth was lower than for the M and GM indices. The results also show that in 56% of the municipalities in the Legal Amazon there is a greater productive emphasis on economic growth.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estudo sobre a situação da logística reversa de lâmpadas fluorescentes conforme estabelecido pelo Plano Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos no Brasil(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-12-21) Domingues, Estefani Aparecida; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5825341428803511; Neves, Anne Alessandra Cardoso; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5825341428803511; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8618382558813394In modern times, electricity has become a vital necessity, but its use can trigger a series of problems related to improper waste disposal, often resulting in the release of harmful substances into the environment and human health. These substances include elements such as mercury and lead, which can cause neurological damage, kidney and respiratory problems. In addition, this type of improper disposal can cause serious environmental damage, polluting the soil, water, and air. In this context, the importance of implementing public policies and environmental awareness focused on proper disposal stands out. This study aimed to investigate the problems arising from improper disposal of such waste and to assess the level of understanding of the target audience regarding the concept of reverse logistics, through the application of a form. The analysis of the responses revealed a lack of overall understanding of the concept of reverse logistics and also regarding the proper disposal of fluorescent lamps by a large part of those surveyed. Thus, a proposed solution would be the implementation of environmental education programs, combined with investments in public policies, aiming to raise awareness among the population about the importance of environmentally sound disposal and to encourage them to adopt the practice of reverse logistics in a safe manner. Additionally, this study sought to elucidate the harms resulting from improper disposal and the benefits arising from reverse logistics regulated by Decree No. 10,936/2022. The research involved reflections in partnership between the researchers and the dyad of the teacher and Educational Interpreter (EI) for the deaf student. The choice of collaborative reflective spiral arises from the fact that it provides conditions for knowledge construction to occur in pathways, with the principle of decision-making collectively, taking into account all participants in the research. The explicit understanding and joint consideration of pedagogical actions led each participant to review their practices. The methodological data collection procedures are organized into four spaces. Spaces 1 and 2 refer to general classes and individual sessions, conducted on the Microsoft Teams platform, while Spaces 3 and 4 relate to meetings on Google Meet among the researchers, the Portuguese language teacher, and the EI to discuss collaborative proposals. The study highlights that this perspective has led to improvements in the teaching and learning of the deaf student, particularly as Sign Language gains more prominence in reflections on teaching Portuguese as a second language. For these and other reasons, we conducted this investigation and advocate for its existence, not only as a process of training and personal/professional development for the participants but also as a project for the production of scientific knowledge and ongoing training for educators involved in the process of linguistic accessibility for deaf individuals in high school.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Síntese e caracterização de hidrogel de poli (álcool vinílico) para liberação de NPK e retenção de água em solo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2023-12-21) Silva, Joelen Osmari da; Senna, André; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3648110579006947; Botaro, Vagner Roberto ; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2907189124654066; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3382-7747; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4160538990374188; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1697-5075; Oliveira, Elaine; Rossino, Luciana; Konatsu, Daniel; Menezes, Aparecido Junior de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6675112150552718; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0139027055418391; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2620060426867863; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0484426340349483; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5098-7857; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2755-8349; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2441-8650; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5638-489XIn 2050 the world population will be more than 9 billion people and to meet this growing food demand it will be necessary to increase food production by at least 60%. To solve these problems, fertilizers are increasingly being used on plantations, often indiscriminately, resulting in various environmental impacts. As a possible solution to remedy or reduce environmental impacts arising from the incorrect use of fertilizers and waste of water, new technologies have emerged, among them, one of the most promising is the use of hydrogels in the soil, as some have great absorption and release properties. gradual release of water and potential to bind to various substances, enabling the controlled release of fertilizers. Therefore, this work aims at the synthesis and characterization of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels for application in rational use of water and release of NPK fertilizers in soil. The hydrogels were called HPVA and synthesized in different proportions considering the stoichiometry in moles of free OH present in PVA per mole of EDTAD, being 10:1, 20:1 and 100:1. They were characterized by Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetry (TG) and swelling capacity. The most stable HPVA was tested for absorption and release of NPK in soil and had its biodegradation and phytotoxicity characteristics evaluated, demonstrating the capacity for controlled release of water and NPK in soil in a bean seedling plantation and not proving to be phytotoxic, in addition to being biodegradable. Therefore, HPVA demonstrated to be a promising material for rational use of water and release of fertilizers into soil.
