Impacto das horas extras na vida dos trabalhadores: estudo de caso em uma indústria química no setor automobilístico

Abstract

Over time, it was observed how long working hours could negatively impact workers' lives. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the consequences of these long hours on the worker's physical and mental health, as well as on their family and social life. For this purpose, interviews were carried out with 10 employees from a chemical industry in the automobile sector with the aim of understanding how overtime impacts these people's lives. As a result, it was found that, when it is done more overtime, workers tend to become more anxious and stressed, which can lead to muscle and headache pain, insomnia, weight gain, among others. Furthermore, when they work too much, they end up not being able to spend much time with friends and family. With this, it was possible to conclude that it is important to seek a balance between personal life and work. Another important factor to consider is the importance of labor laws to limit working hours and thus protect workers, since this research has shown that many workers avoid working excessive overtime due to these laws.
