Resumo

Amid Brazil's increasing energy demand and persistent hydric crisis characterized by prolonged droughts, solar energy has emerged as a vital area of study within various scientific fields, particularly in engineering. Since 2017, the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) has actively engaged in projects that explore the potential of solar energy technology and its benefits, submitting Institutional Development Projects (ProDin) to calls by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). These projects have been successfully approved and implemented across multiple campuses, especially in São Carlos. This thesis presents a comprehensive data survey on ProDin, concentrating on strategies for the utilization of photovoltaic systems. The methodology involved extensive literature reviews, research report analyses, and interactions with stakeholders from ProDin 11.985 and 11.512. Data analysis was conducted using statistical software and Google Sheets, while also examining concepts of thermal radiation and solar atmospheric radiation as complementary subjects to the course “Transport Phenomena II.” Key data collected included the available area for solar panel installation based on geographic location, annual average sun hours, university energy consumption, consumption profiles, and data processing methodologies. The findings provided crucial insights for technical and economic simulations regarding the implementation of photovoltaic systems on the rooftops of departments in the Center for Exact Sciences (CCET).
