Estudos surdos e decolonialidades: o entrelaçar de teorias

Abstract

The present article aims to contribute to the decolonial studies, focusing on deaf communities. The essay tries to decoloniality in discussion, as well as the researches in deaf studies and the interculturality. Since the variety of researches under the deaf studies, we selected only the main authors of the subjects and how these authors criticize the hearing colonialism over deaf people, seeking to give deaf people the protagonism, therefore create new knowledges and ways of thinking, and help to guarantee the political recognition of this group. The essay is a revision of the current literature regarding the decolonial studies, deaf studies about culture representation and deaf identity.
