A escola no Estado plurinacional da Bolívia (2005 – 2019)
Abstract
The following thesis has the general objective of understanding how the political and social changes derived from the construction of the Plurinational State of Bolivia had repercussions on the regular education of the Bolivian educational system. Considering the theme, the whole process of knowledge construction has become a wide field research, due to the fact that the majority of the bibliography is foreign - which demanded a search in loco for the sources -, as well as because of the necessary physical presence in order to proceed with the set of interviews and observations in different educational units in the city of La Paz, Bolivian highlands. For a more adjusted approach to the object, firstly, it was about the historical-organizational elements of Bolivian society, intertwined with the history of education in Bolivia, in a journey that starts from the pre-Inca period, passes through the European invasion and Colony , arrives in the Republic and advances in the consolidation of the Plurinational State, a step that coincides with the specific time frame of this thesis. Then, bringing data from the observations and the voices of the interviewed teachers, we move on to the educational model itself, embarking on its foundations, its characteristics, its formative path and, finally, its management process. The initial perspective was that, in the construction of an educational model whose ballast corresponds to the product of the struggles of the historically subordinated stratum that ascended to the State leadership, education could, dialectically, collaborate in shaping a new consensus, based on a higher sociability. As a result, it is clear that the change in the fundamentals of the State and the Educational System has led to improvements in the model's structure, in educational coverage, in the conditions of permanence, in the educational process and in the results of this process, and that teachers support and acknowledge this improvement. However, the still recent implementation highlights, at the school ambit, the very contradictions of Bolivian society, in the desire to affirm previous standards, adjusted to other fundamentals, being incompatible with those of the plurinational education system. For a more accurate approach would be necessary the evolution of the model, but the coup d'état carried out in 2019 leaves it uncertain whether there will be time to adjust this gap.
