Análise de alguns aspectos do processo de aquisição da língua portuguesa por estudantes hispano-americanos na Universidade Federal de São Carlos em contextos de instrução formal e imersão
Resumen
As a mean of human communication, language enables people to act and transform the environment where they live. In this sense, the following work is inserted in the scope of Applied Linguistics, an interdisciplinary area that is related to real problems involving the use of language, especially those relative to the processes of language learning and acquisition. Based on these considerations, the main question of this research aims to analyze if Portuguese formal instruction conducted in the limits of an education institutions is a determining element for the acquisition and learning of this very language, considering the learning that can also happen in immersion contexts, that is, the contact with Brazilian culture and language. In the following research, we initially consider the first assumption as the most satisfactory. In order to conduct this work, we will also analyze some internal questions related the second language learners, such as the convergent or divergent position concerning to foreign language and culture, their motivation to learn a language as well as the incorporation of Brazilian oral samples and some of their communication strategies.
